I'm delighted to announce the first public release of Peek Launcher, an app I've been working on together with +Pol Kuijken for a while now.

Peek Launcher is an Android home screen built from scratch with a strong focus on speed and productivity. Very often I found myself searching for an app in the app drawer. E.g is the app called "Google Photos" or just "Photos"? You end up scrolling down and up to find the correct app.

With Peek Launcher we try to understand your current context and automatically suggest the right app for you on the homescreen. No need to search! If this fails you can still use the on-screen T9 keyboard to quickly find the app you're looking for.

Please give it a try and let me know what you think!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for being part of this community and making Expense Manager a better app.

If you encounter a bug while testing please use the "Feedback" menu within the app (Tap on the overflow icon on the main screen and select "Feedback").

For suggestions, improvements and feature requests use this community so we can discuss and brainstorm together.

Hi everyone!

This is a list of known issues:
- Budget feature is missing
- When upgrading from Expense Manager 2.0 overheads are not imported into the new system (It's now called Regular Expenses)
- Some animations are wonky
- Income is not clearly visible on main screen when enabled

Click this link to opt-in for BETA testing:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/at.markushi.expensemanager

CAUTION: Please backup your data before opting in.
Backups created with the BETA app are not compatible with the old Expense Manager app.

To leave the BETA test go to https://play.google.com/apps/testing/at.markushi.expensemanager and select "Leave the program". Then uninstall the app and re-install it again from the Google Play Store.

I'm pleased to announce that the Expense Manager app is getting a major update soon.

The app has been rebuilt from the ground up with a strong focus on simplicity and speed. What changed? Everything!

Here's a sneak preview of the app's primary use case: Adding an expense

I'm excited to share a sneak preview of a personal side project I've been working on lately.

I call the project simply "Ring" and it consists of two parts:

The "Ring" ring: A 3D printed ring you can wear on your finger. On the bottom of the ring is a pulse sensor and on top an Arduino chip and a coin cell battery. The ring measures your heart rate and transmits the data over Bluetooth Low Energy to your Android Smartphone.

The "Ring" app: An Android app which pushes the heart rate data to Google Fit. Additionally it has a simple UI which helps you to analyze your heart rate data.

Below you can see my first working prototype. The ring is still a bit too bulky for everyday use - nevertheless I'm quite happy with the result.

Building the first prototype involved quite a lot of stuff: Low level C++ coding for Arduino, implementing the Bluetooth data transfer, sketching a 3D housing for the ring, Google Fit integration, etc..
To be honest I'm a bit surprised that it worked out that well so far :)

We'll stay in New York for six days mid August. Does anybody have recommendations for places to visit?

Today I finally gave framer.js a try - what a great framework!

Unfortunately the Framer Studio IDE is only available for Mac.
After doing some research I found an easy to use cross-platform alternative: Brackets editor
It has a built-in webserver and a Live Preview feature which reloads the preview page after every code change.

Getting started is easy:
- Install Brackets editor: http://brackets.io/
- Download a framer.js example from https://framerjs.com/examples/
- Extract the example and open the folder in the editor
- Press the "Live Preview" button on the right
