Charles Bridge is a must see if you are visiting Prague particularly at night when it is lit up. You can also get some great views of it if you take a trip on one of the regular sightseeing boats. Can get very busy particularly when the art/jewellery street sellers are allowed on.

Lovely building which is well worth a visit alone. Service was friendly and efficient. Good menu with Risotto Balls and Crispy Squid as starters and Black Angel Spaghetti, Rabbit Risotto and Seafood Risotto as mains the highlights. Portions not huge but just enough and everything hot and well cooked. We couldn't fault our experience overall and will go back again.

St Vitus Cathedral is absolutely magnificent. It is a beautifully imposing building with stunning architecture both inside and outside. Photos don't really do it justice and it must be high on your list of places to visit when in Prague. It can get very busy so first thing in the morning and late afternoon are the best times to go. There are some great views of the city as well.

If you haven't tried The Village Stores yet you are missing a treat! Fantastic food and drinks at great prices. Their 'steak on a stone' is awesome. Buy the wines and beers off the shelf at shop prices plus a small surcharge or try one of their very reasonably priced cocktails. A real little gem in the Valley.

The John Lennon Wall is very central so is definitely worth a visit whether you're a Lennon fan or not. Interesting to just spend 10 to 15 minutes reading everything that has been written.

We bought a new shed and log store from Cocklestorm recently and found them very good to deal with. The sales staff member ran through all our options thoroughly and gave us advice where needed. Delivery and construction was trouble free and we are very happy with our purchases.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Red & Blue Hotel in November 2012. It is a modern and very clean hotel that is obviously very well run. Our room was situated on the top (6th) floor with a velux window that looked out over Petrin park. The room was very well appointed with nice decor, double wardrobe, dressing table, large TV, tea and coffee making facilities, big double bed, free standing wash basin, and a glass fronted shower and toilet. The bed was very comfortable with pillow and duvet both to our satisfaction. If we had have had any issues with the bedding the hotel offers a pillow/duvet menu for you to choose from. The shower worked perfectly from a fixed head and there was a hand-held attachment available as well. Plenty of towels available (only issue here was that there was nowhere to hang wet towels once used so we just had to drape them over the seats - a towel rail/hooks would be useful). There was always an abundance of soap, shampoo, shower gel and body lotion (wife would have liked a disposable shower cap). Both rooms adjoining ours were occupied but we had no issues with noise whatsoever. There was a mini-bar which we didn't use but it seemed to offer the standard range of items at going rates. There is a free safe which is a great help. Free wi-fi worked a treat at all times. There is a nice bar area with drinks at standard hotel prices. We paid 90 koruna (just less than £3.00) for a large bottle of Pilsner Urquell. Breakfast is very good with a selection of cereals, local sandwich/toast, bread, cold meats, cheese, fruit, pastries/cakes and hot food including sausages, varied egg dishes, bacon and vegetable dishes. You can choose from a wide variety of juices, coffees and teas. All the staff were a delight on reception, bar, dining room and cleaning and spoke excellent English. The reception staff were particularly helpful when recommending restaurants, places to visit and book taxis. Every member of staff, without exception, greeted you with a warm smile and hello. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the city centre (quiet area) and although it may state on the hotel website that it's a 10 minute walk to the Charles Bridge it is more like 20 minutes at a steady pace. It takes 30 minutes to get to the Old Town square. This isn't a problem as it's a pleasant, flat walk and you have some excellent restaurants and the Monastery of the Infant Jesus of Prague (worth a visit - free entry- just make a donation) en route. Try Cantina (Mexican) and Ferdinands (traditional) restaurants, both of which you will find on the main street.(Ujezd then Karmelitska) heading towards the Old Town. Petrin Park is on the doorstep and you can either walk up the excellent paths (entrance 2 minutes away) or take the Funicular (5 minutes walk) which is very reasonable (round about £1 each return). This hotel is in a great location if you want somewhere quiet but within easy access of the main attractions of the city of Prague. You will not be disappointed with the quality of accommodation or level of service. It is definitely on our list for our next visit.
