For the most part we follow this recipe and the whole family is happy. Sometimes we'll do a little less starch or sugar. We've started using red pepper instead of black. I use more sambal oelek, you'll have to adjust that to your taste.

If we are thinking ahead, we'll mix a double or triple batch in the blender and divide it up and freeze some of the uncooked sauce for a quick meal another day.

Maceys Apple Pie should be called Applesauce Pie. One bite of apple in a slice? I should have bought a Hostess pie, no a Costco pie.

How rethinking the way users make complex selections across devices completely changed our design.

First time at the Little Corner Cafe, maybe the last. I like to support our local businesses, but this one will be hard.

A burger from almost anywhere else is better. The bun was dry, one burger was quite pink, both were dry. The pickles tasted really good considering the rest, but that doesn't justify a $6 burger/fry basket.

The fries were decent. The people are nice.

Our five year old summed it up about the same - didn't like the burger, liked the fries.

The Amazon Echo can play everything from "Five little moneys" to the Black Keys. Setting a time or alarm worked great. A three year old can use it. It seems pretty quick to answer factual questions and some random stuff like "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck"?

This one will be going to my grandma. For someone who can't see so well I think it could be pretty useful. We'll find out...

If I could tie into an API and make new phrases run my commands , I'd be interested in keeping it. "Alexa, close the garage door".

It is a pretty ugly hack, but I did teach (force?) Alexa to open/close the garage door and control lights. I wisht they'd open an API that is meant for 3rd party use.

It is great that Don Julio tortillas have the "Best By" date on the package, but printing it on the shell itself may be a little extreme.

The food is hot and the kids are quietly stuffing their faces. Can't complain about that.

Any new site should be designed from the start to be responsive, but I think it will take a while for the old PSD, pixel-perfect process to evolve.

Smoked meat, just what you'd expect at a smokehouse, is their strength. I had pork and chicken. Others at the table had turkey and ribs - everyone was happy with the meat. Next most important - sauce. They have a variety and there is something for everyone. They weren't amazing, but good, solid sauces. Sides - leave them on the sidelines. I tried steak fries, cornbread, spicy beans, potato salad. Others at my table had the sweet beans. Nobody was impressed with the sides. The cornbread was too dry for my taste. If you like a sweet, moist cornbread - skip this. The spicy beans were not the baked beans I was expecting. They are almost more of a chili flavor, no smoke. The amount of cumin reminded me of taco seasoning. The potato salad was OK, it is basic, fairly plain, but nothing "wrong" with it - I just like more flavor. The steak fries were just as you'd expect, the exception to the rest of the sides. People - Nice and friendly. Someone else asked about their Cornbread Salad. I thought the very honest description of what it was and why some people love and hate it helped the customer make a decision. I'll be back because the smoked meat was great, but I'll pass on the sides.

The Spanish Fork location needs help. The trays are wiped with a sour rag, or stacked up while wet and left that way until they reach the perfect combination of sour-moldy-make-you-puke smell - then they put your food on them. Yum. This is the second time in as many months that they were only able to accept cash. The food was what you'd expect, but I'll avoid this location.

Great breakfast. The place is a bit old, but decent - except the bed. There was a clear depression on the right side of the bed where everyone sits to get in and out of bed. The mattress is old enough it wants to roll you to the middle. All the staff were kind and had a smile.

Since the nearest Five Guys is 10 miles away, we gave the Six Sisters a chance. I'm glad they are here and it is a huge step up from the last business in that location. The Bacon burger with cheese was decent, not the best. The bacon was nice and crisp like it should be. The tomato was on the skinny side for my taste. Maybe next time it will be made like I ordered - the "your choice of cheese" wasn't my choice, but I could eat another one. Prices - Kids meals are where they are going to pull people in at $2.49-2.99. Bacon burger with cheese, $6.99. Make it a combo, add $1.99. Not my favorite, but not bad by any measure. I'm sure we'll find our way back there someday.

If you are in the area, this is a great place to stretch your legs and see a river disappear down a hole and come out at the bottom of a cliff. If it is a very wet spring there may be a waterfall.
