Lovely photos :) we went to Druridge Bay on Mother's Day, couldn't see much, I like to refer to it as vintage haze rather than fog ;)

I love Gibside - we are staying on the Yurts there this Summer and that gives you access to the whole of Gibside at night when it closes to the public

They say thanks, but have you ever tried using a hot air dryer instead of toilet paper?

Aaaarrrrrggghhhh!!!! The people sitting at the desks opposite are tucking into fish and chips. The aroma is drifting across the room and making me hungry.

It's not making me enthusiastic for the soup I'll be invariably getting from the canteen.

Tynemouth. Thought that rather than take a panorama of the beach/sea I take it facing in the opposite direction.

I'm not sure I like it now.  I think I need to dial back some of the alterations I made in Lightroom.

A clean (even though they were redecorating) and comfortable hotel. Food was good and there's a family rec room with sofa's and TV. Very pleasant staff and management. Tried to re-book but they were full.

Not the largest Sainsbury's in the world. There's a modest non food section, and a good cafe. Filling station also on site.

On a nice day you'd be hard pushed to find a better National Trust site to visit. There are practical demonstrations on the generation of electricity as well as beautiful gardens and grounds. The only downside, I didn't have a chance to get round the whole place in the day I visited. I guess that means I'll need to go again!

Great food and great service. No alcohol licence, but you can take your own. The buffet isn't really a buffet..... It's better. Your order what you want, it's brought fresh to your table and then you order more. The advantage being that the food isn't sitting in a bain marie losing its freshness. I only wish I could give them a 6!

A (relatively) small pub that serves great food with great service. We went to see Santa, each child has an allocated slot of about 30 minutes. During that time they get to talk to Mrs Claus (or should that be Mary Christmas) and one of Santa's elves before going on a little treasure hunt to find carrots for Rudolf. After finding all the carrots it's time to go and see Santa where the get two gifts.

A great toy store, not as large as the Toys R Us a few miles away but don't let that put you off. The On The Shelf promise on the website is also a great feature.

It's Subway. Do I NEED to explain. The only problem I've ever had at this particular store was when they ran out of bread. Shows how popular they are.
