PROJECT: SUBJECT AND DISTANCE
These two are straight out of camera raw files converted to jpg with no edits at all.  They really highlight the impact of using a longer lens and how it compresses the background.
Both images are taken with a 24-120 f/4.  The trees behind the statue are about 4 metres behind it.

The image on the left, taken from 3 metres in front of the statue 24mm f/5 1/640 ISO400
The image on the right, taken from 13 metres in front of the statue 120mm f/5 1/1000 ISO400

I realise they are not particularly good images, but I thought it really highlighted very effectively the compression effects of a longer lens and the opposite effect of a shorter focal length.

This might be a silly question, but I can't see an answer yet... has the Module 1 group project been published yet?
We have a group together, but haven't got a clue what we should be doing yet... I found the project for the last time the course was run... but it seems to be gone now.

Meantime, here are a couple more I took last year....

Hi, I'm Mark from Melbourne, I have a couple of Nikon cameras and want to be better at using them than I am. Here are a couple of images I have taken in the past.  Looking forward to sharing and learning with the group.   #o2sphoto
