Attendee Feedback from every Inbound Dublin event is important to us. We want to host an event that you both love and feel a part of.

In order to achieve this, we’re going to be fully transparent with you by sharing and responding to all feedback received from attendees following each event.

Believe Google + has any real benefit to rankings? Think again.

Matt Cutt's drops a truth bomb on correlation studies.
Just trying to decide the politest way to debunk the idea that more Google +1s lead to higher Google web rankings. Let's start with correlation != causation: http://xkcd.com/552/. But it would probably be better to point to this 2011 post (also from SEOMoz/Moz) from two years ago in which a ...

At the moment there appears to be a lack of digital marketing events taking place in Dublin.

It would be great to gain any suggestions you might have about the format of a meetup event which you would deem valuable to you.

e.g.

-Guest speakers focusing on specific aspects of Inbound Marketing
-Networking opportunities
-Practical training sessions

etc

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Inbound Marketing Meetup

Hey IMI+ folks - we're proposing an informal Inbound Marketing meetup in Dublin with +Mark Scully and +Paul Cawley .

Just wondering what folks think about the idea, when we should look to hold it (September? After the holidays?) and where :)

Looking forward to any suggestions

Work within a digital marketing role in Ireland, or simply interested in the industry?

What particular events would you recommend?

And if such an event doesn't exists which you feel would be beneficial, what type of event or meetup would you enjoy?

Has Google's Penguin algorithmic update impacted you? If you've been playing by Google's rules then you should be fine. If not, check out the latest blog post on our blog to find out if you've been negatively impacted.
Last Friday, the latest iteration of Google's Penguin algorithmic update was released. Here's a great tip for figuring out if you've been hit by it.

Passionate about Inbound Marketing and would love the chance to present your in-depth knowledge? Inbound Dublin is searching for speakers at the moment.

The next event is taking place in January '14 in Dublin -

I would be surprised if the majority of people never experienced issues similar to Martin's.

Recently for an account, we had a Google Account Manager assist with optimising for higher conversions. The impact of having their help resulted in the cost per conversion doubling, and non-relative keywords being bidding on.

From my own experience, the quality of help you receive from Google is tied to the budget of your account. If you want some proper advice, I would suggest you seek help from an agency and not from Google.

Surely they have to undergo intensive training? I've found a few Googlers to be quite pretentious about the fact that they work there, and that I should simply follow their advice. It's quite shocking to read stories such as this about businesses losing money simply due to poor knowledge or sales tactics.

It's the small businesses I worry about who lack the knowledge to identify poor advice.

I'm sure the majority of us are well aware how to conduct competitor analysis by checking their backlink profiles to identify opportunities.

However, like most guides from Annie Cushing, I usually find a better way to present the data and a slightly quicker way of doing it.

'Describe your experience at The Enterprise' Well 'crap' comes to mind. I was there at 1pm with work colleagues. It wasn't until 1.40 when their food finally arrived which was the same dish I ordered. 20 minutes later mine still hadn't arrived so I asked the staff about it. They seem puzzled and offered me a free drink. What good is a free drink if my lunch hour is over with still no estimated time about when my food would be ready?! I requested a refund. Very very poor service.
