Can't decide whether to leave my phone stock, root it, or rom it now that my replacement unit arrived...

Before the old one shattered I had it rooted and with a custom rom on it for extra features. This time around I almost don't feel like going through the hassle of tweaking and customizing again.

+Marcus Thomas That was less fun than rooting the first one. T-mobile sent me one that had a bootloader that did NOT want to be rooted or swapped the recovery. I bricked it at least 3 or 4 times before finally getting TWRP to stick. Not sure what they did differently on this later batch but I notice bugs are fixed compared to the first batch ones, however they're a LOT harder to root.

Back to my Nokia Lumia for a day or so until my replacement Note 4 comes in from T-Mobile. I'll admit,if Windows Phone had tethering support like my Note, I would use this thing fulltime as a daily driver without hesitation.

Ah, I'm not on an unlimited plan, so I can tether up to my data allotment with no penalty.  T-Mobile has to abide by that too, unless you're on an unlimited plan.  That's the only benefit to being on a tiered plan, but I use it.

Ironically, those apps actually came out for Blackberry first.

Still going to be a better fight than Pacquiao vs. Mayweather...
Former 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is picking another fight — with Evander Holyfield, the former heavyweight champion of the world. It's all for a good cause.

I'm a few days late to the party but just finished watching the Kurt Cobain documentary...
If you were a teenager in the 90s, you knew how important Cobain was to not only the music scene but the culture of that decade. Everyone was wearing Nirvana t-shirts in my high school, everyone owned copies of most of their CDs, and everyone seemed affected when Cobain blew his brains out and it was announced. With that said, I'm still waiting for a biopic of his life to be released. This documentary was more about getting to know Kurt and his influences rather than a story about his life and why he was important.
It’s not often that a film stays with you days after you’ve watched it. But Montage of Heck, Brett Morgen’s extensive, beautiful, and devastating documentary on late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, utterly sticks to your ribs.

RIP to the most wonderful Grandma that a person could ever have. She passed away earlier today but will live on in our memories forever.

+Mark S This is pretty much what it is:
"Hey let's take something that we think people won't remember for the life of them and remake it completely different from the original."
Hey look, it didn't work.

Random thought:
Kids today will never know the struggle of trying to adjust the radio dial in the car or at home 'just that little bit' to try and bring in a station....

We should replicate it digitally - add digital distortion in real time that you have to move a dial / wheel / knob in order to decrease the distortion - and then randomly for no reason at all - it should reapply some digital distortion, maybe we could include a small IR webcam that watches for people moving about - and then we can either add or remove digital distortion when people leave or come back. So for example - when sitting near the radio we can add digital distortion that no amount of fiddling with the wheel will fix, and then when they get up and walk further away from the radio - we can remove the distortion. It'll be like a strategy game! Imagine growing up not knowing such simple pleasures, or the sound of a 28k modem trying to connect to your ISP over a bad line and failing multiple times before finally connecting. Or my favourite - loading ZX Spectrum tapes so often that you can actually hear when something goes wrong and you know that in the next 30 seconds the screen will start flashing red and blue and that game just isn't going to load.
