While resentment regarding robots taking jobs and conspiracies as to how they may take over our planet and turn us into haggard, shackled captives is a continual theme--especially in very entertaining but frightening sci-fi movies—many of us actually find the prospect of having machines do our dir...

I just have to get this done lol
While Chris Hardwick rather famously has been rendered in almost life-size Lego in our company's lobby, the ability of most mortals to craft themselves in plastic brick form tends to be prohibitively expensive, not to mention the fact that it requires skills which, contrary to what The Lego Movie told us, not everyone is special enough to obtain. (I can make a smiley face - but an actual likeness? Not happening, unless you're The Blank from Dick ...

Every year I manage to gain an audience with Santa to brief him on the latest trends that OpenText is seeing in the market. Last year I introduced Santa to OpenText’s Enterprise Information Management solutions and in previous years I have discussed the Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing and how Santa’s organization …

Since joining OpenText in January 2014, through the acquisition of GXS, I have presented many sessions on our Innovation Tour stops and at our major annual conference, Enterprise World. No sooner did Enterprise World finish last November, we have been busy planning for our 2016 Innovation Tour. We have five Innovation Tour stops this year, …

Companies can’t just dabble at the edges by appointing a charismatic chief digital officer or CIO, or adopting the latest shiny technologies - digital strategy and transformation must be a top priority of the CEO and the senior management.

During my time at OpenText and GXS I have posted a few blog entries relating to disruptive technologies and how they could impact future B2B environments. In July 2007 I posted a blog on how smart mobile devices such as Apple’s iPhone could help to mobilize B2B platforms, I followed this blog up wit

Strategic & Innovative B2B marketing professional with over twenty years of experience working for global blue chip information technology software and services based companies
Introduction

As Industry Marketing Director, I lead OpenText | GXS’ strategy in the manufacturing industry where I have a particular focus on automotive, high tech and industrial sectors. In this role, I define the go-to-market strategy for OpenText | GXS’ cloud based B2B e-commerce and integration solutions within the afore-mentioned industry sectors.

In recent years I have developed thought leadership in areas such as the Internet of Things, cloud computing, ERP integration, divestitures, B2B outsourcing, emerging markets and supply chain disruption. I frequently speak at global conferences on subjects such as improving the efficiency of manufacturing supply chains and strategies for managing offshore manufacturing operations. I am often quoted in industry publications such as Automotive Logistics, Manufacturing Digital and Automotiveworld.com. I also have a keen interest in all aspects of social media to help develop my ‘digital footprint’ across the manufacturing sector. As part of my role I work closely with the industry organisations, for example working with Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and ODETTE in the automotive sector and I participate in the EDIFICE high tech industry association in Europe.

Prior to joining OpenText | GXS, I worked for the National B2B Centre in the UK, a government-funded organisation which helped small-to-medium-sized companies adopt all aspects of B2B technology. I also spent 12 years with PTC, a PLM software solution provider, where I held a number of senior positions in Technical Presales and International Marketing.

I have an MSc in Computer Aided Engineering from Cranfield University and an MBA from Warwick Business School, both universities are located in the UK.
