When I promise to take the kids to the nearest beach (it's 100 miles each way), I keep my promises. Even with 40 mph winds and horizontal rain. This picture does not show how grim the weather was! #itssummer

I've set my time - on a boris bike! - why don't you!
How long does it take you to do a loop of Regents Park or Richmond Park? (£500 gift card up for grabs). By Andreas on 02/09/2011 in Cycling in London. Update: I'm opening this up to Richmond Park ...

But that wouldn't be in the spirit of a cycling competition now would it!

How to impress the wife and thank her for what she does.

Apparently the best thing I have ever made for her. Right up there with my Bangladeshi Mustard Fish (using halibut)
Recipe for Beef carpaccio with rocket from Times Online Food and Drink, exclusive recipes from Gordon Ramsay, Jill Dupleix and other leading chefs

How to watch the #olympics and #f1 at the same time. All without turning on a TV tuner!

Just spent the last couple of hours watching a twitter-storm with people after a HP Touchpad from cleverboxes in the UK. They only sold it via their phone system as they were convinced their website couldn't handle the load (and it probably couldn't!). This inenvitably clogged up their local exchange, and when you could get past the BT message, you got busy or connected and "License Limit Reach" message played to you. Apparently they started with 160 of the units and have now sold out.

I found it quite amusing that when their phone system died for the 2nd time, they then suggested via Twitter that people contact them via Facebook Chat with their phone number - which then caused lots of people to start adding their number to cleverboxes' facebook page and directly into Twitter. So now there are hundred of people's (mostly mobile!) phone numbers out their ready for ID theft/scamming. I can hear the conversation now - "Hi it's xxxx from cleverboxes, you were one of the lucky ones! We got the number from facebook/twitter, what's your credit card number? Yes we'll ship one right away!" - and bye bye all that dosh. Nice!

Sometimes you forget how gullible people are for a (perceived) bargain! Ah human nature hey, ain't it grand.

As a side note - anyone know who's contact centre software plays the message "Licence Limit Reached" to the customer - that just seems really bad!

Much simpler to get one from Best Buy :-) For once, I was looking at the right place, at the right time. At a £115 it's a great toy!

Yes that is my bike, and yes I did ride up to Brill - not bad for an unfit bloke - here's the track I took http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/hV8Pl6tCX0I

It was my goal to get up Brill Hill, but that seems a little easy today, although I went up the easy side, rather than the hard way. I just enjoy a bike ride - and don't like the tube - the cycle/transport in London is on boris bikes rather than my bike,. Just a little tougher!
