Einstein, when he arrived in America, was shocked at how Black Americans were treated. “There is separation of colored people from white people in the United States," he said. "That separation is not a disease of colored people. It is a disease of white people. And, I do not intend to be quiet about it.” And, he wasn't.

People with our wiring know that prejudice is totally illogical and massively harmful to the whole community.

The situation is getting out of hand...

Spoon boy : Do not try and bend the iPhone. That's impossible. Instead... only try to realize the truth.
Neo : What truth?
Spoon boy : There is no iPhone.
Neo : There is no iPhone?
Spoon boy : Then you'll see, that it is not the iPhone that bends, it is only yourself.

Its the attention to detail I like
specifically the array of previously bent phones on the floor.
and is that an old Orange Nokia phone I see on the right?
No chance of bending one of those.

If you are a woman working in tech you can apply for a sponsored place at the FLOSSUK DevOps Spring conference with a generous travel/accommodation/attendance grant from Google: http://bit.ly/1F61z2h - closes 6th March.
Tech giant Google has made available travel grants for this year's [FLOSSUK Spring conference][flspring] as part of its EMEA Women in Tech Conference and Travel grants for female computer scientists. This is a terrific opportunity to visit a DevOps conference focussing on Free and Open Technologies.

As I mentioned in my last blog post it would be really great if we were to get into the Google Summer of Code for 2015. We had an extremely succesful 2014 and being a part of this event again would be good for the community and for Perl. However to do that we need a stack of ideas of projects, ...

Brilliant summertime attraction for kids and adults with a range of small farm activities such as mini pets, tractor rides, farm animal walk. Then there are the soft play and adventure playgrounds and the small kart and trampolines. But the major attractions is the Maze. Don't forget to get a map, especially if the kids want to get all the stamps in order.

A sprawling morass if shops and cafes that totally revitalises Liverpool City Centre. Of note are the roof garden restraunts and cinema complex hidden between stores.

This is a real treasure with one of the best mixes of animals, shows and attractions. The kids loved the giant wavy slide and bird of prey display.

Like most Sealife Centres they balance display with education. Benefits from one of the most spectacular views of Loch Lomond from its cafe.
