In a free market, this wouldn't be an issue, because if people weren't confident enough to invest for whatever reasons, like if they felt it was a rigged system, those who run the system would implement something better and more efficient than what the government can ever offer - and if they didn't, then the trading floors would just see a lot less investors. So they operate in good faith and gain investors/customers, or they operate in bad faith, and people spread the word and they have nothing. Personally, I just think the SEC is another waste of tax dollars for a 'war on __________". Typical statists riding around on their moral high horse as usual.
