This week I am excited to celebrate the two year anniversary of the opening of my law firm, Grzymala Law Offices, P.C.

Emanuel wants 5-year extension of construction set-aside program

New rules go into effect this week to protect homeowners from unscrupulous lenders and surprise interest rate changes at closing  

The rules require lenders to provide a binding loan estimate stating all the loan terms and conditions and then a closing disclosure statement three days before closing. 

These are huge changes and will affect everyone involved in a real estate transaction including buyers, lenders, title companies and attorneys.

Here is my latest Construction Law blog post on partial mechanics lien waivers.  

Specifically, we look at  the differences between "money"  (to the extent of payment) and "time" (as of a certain date) partial lien waivers.  We examine when to use each type of waiver so that a contractor or material supplier does not inadvertently waive more rights than it has to.
