Hello, I'm from Oakdale, MN and have been into photography for about 2 years now. I had an interest in photography since high school but never took a class or took the next step.
What changed? I was tired of taking dark, motion blurred phtos of my dog Lucy and cats Calvin and Kyla. I decided to get a DSLR (actually a SLT) so I could get better shots in low light. The pictures turned out great.
Next I went to St. Paul one Saturday afternoon and took some shots of the city. I was hooked! It was a lot of fun and it opened up all sorts of ideas and possibilities. Now I do all kinds of things and go all kinds of places I never would before. Like being a kid again.
Then came the interest in these fantastic looking HDR photos (yes I ended up at StuckInCustoms looking at Trey Ratcliff's work) and I had to try it. After learning the ins and outs of Photomatix and Lightroom I think I've gotten pretty good at it.
Now photography has become an obsession but one that is a very positive influence and brought much joy, accomplishment and engagement with the world around me.
