Discussion  -

I was discussing weather sealing on lenses/cameras with a non-camera friend the other day and I believe I've settled on the real reason adding weather sealing: excessive sweat in concert pits. So glad I had water with me for this show, probably one of the hottest and humidest shows I've been to.

A more reserved headline this time round just for +Greg Amer:-P
In the IntelliJ IDEA 14.1 EAP announcement we've already teased you with the expected support for Spring Boot into the IDE. Today the time has come to share more details on what it is and what you already can try with the latest EAP build.

Dropbox is using POST to support longer queries.

Author proposes two alternative workarounds:

* REPORT, a standard extension providing for a verb that's idempotent like GET, but allowed to include the query in its body.
* POST to create a query resource, then GET the response. (IMO this kind of "make a REST verb into a noun" game is often a contrived solution that goes a long way from the developer's intent. But still useful to consider as it can certainly lead to useful alternative solutions.)

March 02, 2015. Dropbox starts using POST, and why this is poor API design. Today Dropbox announced in a blogpost titled "Limitations of the GET method in HTTP" that it will start allowing POST requests for APIs that would otherwise only be accessible using GET . It's an interesting post, ...

That said, I'm all for anything that would piss Roy Fielding off, so Dropbox should totally use non-idempotent (dempotent?) GETs.

Fuji XE-2 with the 50-140 F2.8 at the Techn9ne concert at Aucklands "Studio" Wednesday night. Really loving this lens but man, at 1kg its a beast to lug around, and at this venue I would probably be better off with the new 16-55 F2.8.

I find I'm still having to crank up the ISO to 6400 or so and the shutter down around 1/60 to get good results (flash free) with fast moving musicians - at least that's what I've found so far and I'm not really wanting to experiment during a limited pit window :)

From black metal to apparently hip hop - I find extreme music to be "the extremes of music". Now to write the actual review.

There is a difference between installing the JRE and the JDK. The JDK does not bundle the Ask toolbar.
