Last year, the most exciting thing at Google I/O was a chunk of cardboard--cardboard which could transform any smartphone into an uber-cheap virtual reality headset. But Google isn’t stopping there. This year, the company will “announce some things around Cardboard that aren’t made of cardboard,” says Google’s Clay Bavor. Intriguing.

Mike Elgan originally shared to Technology:

Google made a brilliant acquisition of a brilliant app called Timeful. Brilliant, right?

Google has acquired a startup called Timeful, which makes a time management app. It's what you might call a smart app. Very smart.

Basically, you tell the app what you'd like to accomplish on a regular basis, and it finds time in your schedule to make that happen.

Do you want this technology in Google Calendar?

Introducing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic

Our happiest Google+ users are those who connect with others around shared interests and passions. So we set out to give people a place to express the things they love. Today, we’re announcing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic.

Every collection is a focused set of posts on a particular topic, providing an easy way for you to organize all the things you’re into. Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people. Once you create your first collection, your profile will display a new tab where other people can find and follow your collections.

Posts in collections you follow will appear in your Home stream, with a link to easily jump right into the collection so you can get to similar content from that author. Collections give you a great way to find more of the stuff you love from the people you follow.

Collections is available on Android and the web, and iOS is coming later. For Android users, make sure to update your Google+ app to get access to Collections.

For inspiration on interesting topics, check out our Featured Collections page here: g.co/collections

Create your collections today and share what you love.

Looking forward to this.

We are delighted to be hosting an International Observe the Moon Night on the evenings of 5th and 6th of September 2014 with the Wycombe Astronomical Society.

International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) is an annual event that is dedicated to encouraging people to ‘look up’ and take notice of our nearest neighbour, the Moon. From looking at the Moon with a naked eye to using the most sensitive telescope, every year on the same day, people from around the world hold events and activities that celebrate our Moon.

This year together with Wycombe Astronomical Society we will be hosting an International Observe the Moon Night on the evenings of 5th and 6th September 2014 at Woodrow House near Amersham Bucks. The event will run from 8pm until 10pm on both days, and is open to all members of the public.

Fantastic! Love the walled garden, woodland walks and lakes. There is also an excellent kids adventure park. The cafe is in a beautiful old building and there is also the ring that inspired Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings.
