Awesome idea for an event and festival app from +Ben Arledge. Can't wait to see what comes of it!
If Edmonton is going to call itself festival city, there has to be a one-stop shop for people to search local events, says one software developer. Ben Arledge is spearheading the project Edmonton. io, a website he hopes will present festivals, events and other activities happening in the city on one, clear site.

Some of these pictures are stunning.
Photographic highlights of the year include images from the crisis in Ukraine, the D-Day 70th anniversary, the search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 and the Sochi Olympics.

Reviews like this make me really feels like Chromebooks are about to go mainstream. Very curious to see what the reaction to that is as the way you use them, and think about them, is very different than a normal laptop.

Has anybodys non-tech friends started using a Chromebook recently? I know some of the older ones were non-starters, but I'd be curious to hear the opinion of a non-tech person that has recently tried one out.
Chromebooks keep getting better and better. Toshiba's latest comes with a 13-inch 1080p IPS display, 2.58 GHz Intel Celeron processor with 4GB RAM, Skullcandy-branded stereo speakers, and 0.76-inch-thick textured chassis.

IMO they are already mainstream. My parents also love theirs. Chromebook 2s will be a whole new level of mainstream and love. You can't beat a sandbox and automatic updates.

Crazy video of a lightning strike in the Edmonton. It looks like there's a small explosion in the last few seconds too. Does anyone know what happened or where this was?

Professional, fast and lots of staff. We've been taking our dog to get his nails and glands done for the last 3 years. They've always been able to accommodate us quickly, even without an appointment and do a nice job on our dogs nails most of the time. I'd recommend them to a friend and plan to go back myself.
