By Mark Alpert Over the holidays I had dinner with a friend from Vermont who asked me what it was like to sell a novel. He’s interested in writing fiction and I think he was looking for some inspiration. So I told him on...

A sniper shot of over a mile.
Never happened to as depicted to this American Sniper.
But as depicted for effect, he put the entire group at very significant risk.
But, if they knew where the sniper was, and they had a drone flying overhead, and they had helicopters in the area, and they were in the middle of a war zone…
…Couldn’t they simple have sent a missile or artillery and destroyed the “bad guy” sniper?
Would not have had the Hollywood tension, but it would have worked, and…
…would have been a great cinematic explosion.
