Marie Schreer
Marie Schreer is a London-based violinist from the Southwest of Germany. A passionate chamber musician, she enjoys playing with a variety of groups which currently include The Guastalla Quartet, contemporary music ensembles Mainly Two, rarescale and the Riot Ensemble as well as the Sequoia Trio and Ensemble Nova Luce which also incorporate classical improvisation into performances. Marie’s passion for music in not only the classical genre has brought her onto major concert hall and festival stages around Europe and South America. She has worked with a number of artists including Jonny Greenwood, Rick Wakeman, Stewart Copeland, Benji B and Anna Calvi, and has played under conductors such as Bernard Haitink, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Gustavo Dudamel. Marie performs with many professional English orchestras, often as a principal and sub-principal player, including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Northern Sinfonia. As a soloist, she has worked with the Karlsruhe Symphony Orchestra, the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra and has recorded solo violin for Puy du Fou‘s new show ‘Le Dernier Panache’ with the Prague Symphonic Ensemble.
