Fuir le bonheur de peur qu'il ne se sauve, run away from happiness for fear it flees away....

This is one of the most marvelous song wrote by Serge Gainsbourg, the man with a cabbage head, for his great love Jane Birkin.
My favorite songs include lots of songs from Gainsbourg. As a consequence, when they were little girls, my daughter knew songs from Gainsbourg, some a bit unappropriate for their age...
This is part of a streerart mural under a bridge at an entrance of Paris called "Poterne des peupliers"

Don't run away from happiness, grab it, hold on it....

Being an American, I had never heard of Serg or Jane, but it was fun listening to the song, and to see the photo! ::)

Such a sad love story! I can't even understand the words of the song...I started taking online French lessons for fun, but have a long way to go with it!

I love the way Gainsbourg spoke English. Hey - and if you had cropped the image you'd missed the arrow. The arrow makes a point ...

Ah, come on ... don't make it too clean for Serge! It clearly shows: "I'm a part of a larger whole and I'm proud of it!"
