This totally reminds me of San Francisco. The days of just laying in the grass. Ahhhh. Just thinking about it RELAXES me to the fullest.

This is cool and a little different. I just want to say I sat on Herb Caen's keys. For all you San Francisco folks grew up with reading Herb Caen's column

Data Data Data! What kinds of urban data can we discover on Market St.?

The Data Lanterns are a network of sculptural civic totems that reveal and illuminate layers of urban data. They create poetry out of infrastructure and celebrate the ebb and flow of the city with animated beacons of flowing light. The vertical lanterns are connected to data from neighboring transportation systems and inform pedestrians about the arrival and departure of trains, buses and ferries. The lanterns are physically attached to existing vertical light posts and signaling poles. They transform these utilitarian columns into data-informed light beacons that animate the streets-cape both day and night.

The Urban Living Room has elements that everyone has at home: a big lamp, places to sit, flowers, and - of course - bike parking, because there is a good chance that many people who live in a small apartment and own a bike, have stored it somewhere in their living room. Two public bike pumps will be added, and a clear map with bike routes and interesting places nearby will be the 'carpet’ of the urban living room.
The Urban Living Room is a small place where you can meet friends, have a coffee, sit down for a moment, check a large map of the neighborhood, discover highlights and secrets of San Francisco, or pump up your bike tires.  The Urban Living Room has elements that everyone has at home: a big lamp, places to sit, flowers, and - of course - bike parking, because there is a good chance that many people who live in a small apartment and own a bike, hav...

One of my fav things about San Francisco is the fog. It can really make this city very otherworldly. I will totally be playing with this prototype re-imagining the fog on Market St.

"Fogplane" is a catalyst to evoke a sense of familiarity and a sense of community. We see fog as an environment that supersedes all differences in the community and is the common element that binds the city.

I wish I was a healthier person that would use Market St. to workout. But sadly I will just watch other people use it. But really cool to re-imagine the space for working out all the time.

A city-sponsored “Play Everyday” campaign will help us re-cast San Francisco as “The Playful City:” an urban hub that puts people first and celebrates our basic human needs to move, gather, and play. And it will be a small but mighty bright spot in the story of public health in America.

Market Street Prototyping Festival getting press. Yeah so excited for the Mobile Selfie Booth to be included in this festival. What kind of ideas do you have to activate Market Street? http://abc7news.com/society/design-teams-try-ideas-to-liven-up-sfs-market-street/384508/

Coffee okay. Speciality coffee drinks very interesting. Smoking was horrible. It was hard to enjoy the coffee with the cigarette smell.
