At last I have time to crochet again and to update my blog about the things I have been unravelling and the things I have been making.
I have been very busy in the Day Job recently, so I've not had much time for crochet and none at all for updating this blog. However, the end of term is in sight, the huge pile of assignments to mark has been dealt with and s...

I have finished another small crochet project.
I'm not entirely sure how to spell "pot-holder". I've seen it as "pot holder", "pot-holder" and "potholder". Anyway, I've made some of those circular things you handle hot pots and pans with. :) This project was partly to hel...

I just wanted to show off the cute Easter bunnies I've crocheted for the grandchildren.

And pooh! The preview images are still not working, so you'll just have to believe me when I say the bunnies are cute. :(
I can't resist showing off the Easter Bunnies and crochet baskets I've made for my grandchildren. The baskets I just improvised so there's no pattern. However, I talked about them here. If you want to make your own bunnies, t...

I have a new crochet WIP.
My 92-year-old Dad moved into residential care last autumn and my brother and I had the job of selling his bungalow. I started to make a filet crochet runner for the lovely dark wood dining room table, thinking it would help ...

I have used both methods when writing. I also find that I can improvise crochet but haven't a hope in hell of making knitting up as I go along. With knitting I have to religiously follow the pattern.

Easter is coming and I'm busy making presents for the grandkids...
For the past week I've been busy making Easter presents for the grandchildren. I didn't want to just buy chocolate eggs because the postage makes it a very expensive way to buy chocolate. In fact I think last year I sent mone...

Well, the purchase of the Craft Cotton was accidental in that I thought I was buying something else. This is always a hazard when buying on the internet when you only have a picture to go on and can't feel the yarn.

Buying yarn or fabric because it calls to me as I walk past, even though I don't have a specific project in mind is a slightly different problem. :)

I finally got around to updating my crochet blog, with a post about knitting a sweater!
It's been a long time since I updated this blog, but it has not been forgotten or abandoned. Unfortunately, I haven't been doing much crochet over the past 6 months due to getting more teaching hours at the local college and ...

Thank you. Regarding the Hall question, if you mean am I related to the various Halls who used to run all the hotels in and around Dolgellau, the answer is no. It's a pretty common name.

Dear G+ user (who won't see this because they are now blocked).

Abusing the "share directly with" feature will not get me to follow you, it will just make me cross and irritable. I might take the trouble to ask you nicely to stop, but on the other hand, if I'm cranky because I've just had the busiest and most stressful week of the academic year, I won't bother and will just report you for abuse and block you.

What would happen if we all shared everything directly with people we wanted to follow us? It would make the notification system useless.

Yours

18/52 for the Flickr group 2014 weekly alphabet challenge

This week's theme was: R is for Round

Last week was horrendously busy and stressful with assessment deadlines that were absolutely non-negotiable. I didn't have time to go out to look for interesting round things to photograph and we had started to run out of fresh food by yesterday. By this morning, there was only one solitary apple left in the bowl.

Don't worry. We won't starve. I got the marks uploaded yesterday evening and the random sample of assignments was posted to the moderator in time to catch the last post, which is 12.30 pm on a Saturday. And then I went to the Co-op and did a big shop, so we have food again. Except I forgot to buy apples, so this is still the last solitary apple in the bowl.

This is getting very frustrating. Now it's not offering any photos at all.

Ah, no! I was being impatient. So that's one problem solved, except that posting larger photos breaks the blog's layout. Grrrrr!

OK, I've got it now. 550 px wide works and is still narrow enough to leave the blog layout unaffected. It will mean doing a calculation every time I post a photo from Flickr to my blog though. Sigh...

OK, why has the linking from Blogger gone wrong? In the past, when I've published a new blog post and the little window pops up, offering to post a link here to G+, it's always added a photo from the blog post. Now it's just adding a giant picture of me! Do NOT want that!

Edited to add: I've Googled and found some help and altered a setting, so I've deleted the link and now I'll try to post again. I suspect that the recent change to Flickr is causing the problem because that's where I host my photos and it's always worked before.

I'm busy stash busting at the moment. I have more yarn than I can comfortably store in my tiny study-cum-work room, so even though I should have been working on other things, this was a useful item that I actually need and also made a tiny reduction in the amount of yarn I possess.
I'm supposed to be finishing the Easter bunnies and baskets for the grandchildren and I really ought to finish the Fatty Lumpkin pony, which is currently stalled at the assembling stage. So what do I do? I end up making a qui...
