Bude to dalších 500€

I upgraded to the new GNOME with Fedora 21 and noticed that there were some very radical design choices in the core GNOME applications.  I think that some of these need rethinking because they are bad patterns to follow.

In general dialog boxes now have their actions ("Cancel", "Open", "Save", "Extract", etc) embedded in the window chrome where "Close", "Minimize", and "Maximize" once were.  This places the actions outside of the top to bottom left to right flow of filling out the dialog.  If you have your window actions on the left, then the title bar becomes even messier.  Additionally, items which are in the bottom right now have much HIGHER precedence because they are in the magic corner.

I have started with the Archive manager because it is one of the most used applications I use and has the most easily observable changes, but there are plenty of issues to take with the core apps.

I upgraded my home desktop to #fedora21 . It wasn't smooth like everywhere is written. My old graphic card Nvidia 9800 GT refused to work with binary driver akmod-nvidia-343.x. I had to use nouveau :(

I filled the survey, do that too ;)

Google wants to know what you think of Calendar
Google is requesting feedback on the new Google Calendar app via this survey.

I complained about the 5-day week view on phones (down from 7), the removal of pinch zoom, the poor scrolling on the agenda view, and the lack of a phone month view that looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/yXWsHcQ.jpg.

That's just me though. Maybe you could let them know what you think, too. =P

And thanks to +Kevin Morse for sending me this.

Our team is currently working on a few improvements of the product and we would love to ask you a few additional questions to better understand your needs. Filling this questionnaire should take approximately 5 minutes. Thanks a lot for helping us improve this product! The Calendar Team

#fedora21 makes me mad on my home desktop pc.
After issues with nouveau driver (wake up from sleep doesn't work, it just always restarted session) I installed nvidia akmod from rpmfusion 3 weeks ago and all were fine again.
Then gnome-shell was playing with me some refresh rate game for background image after wakeup,
so I installed xcfe4-desktop meanwhile and all were fine.
Then after some updates I couldn't boot into gdm on Saturday (I didn't catch why, but it was installed nvidia-340xx instead of driver nvidia-304xx for my nvidia 9800GT. So reinstalled it and rebooted. No luck GDM just didn't start.

Today after playing and finding a real cause I gave up and installed lightdm and again my PC is usable. What is that with #fedora in last month? :(

LOL, I like Linux and would be paralysed with Mac OSX. Anyway I have used #Fedora over a year without issues, so experiencing such problematic updates will result in stopping updating it.

I need to try ...

The Open Scheduling and Planning Interface for Exploration (OpenSPIFe) is an integrated planning and scheduling toolkit built with Eclipse and based on hundreds of hours of expert observation, use, and refinement of state-of-the-art planning and scheduling technology for several applications within NASA. It was designed from the ground up with the needs of the operational user in mind, and it presents unique solutions to a number of problems common in other commercial and homegrown systems. SPIFe has been used on the Mars Exploration Rover (MER) mission, the Phoenix Mars Lander mission, and the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission. It also has been adapted as preflight planning and a real-time analysis console tool that supports all phases of planning on the International Space Station (ISS), as well as several other flight projects and analogs like LADEE and NEEMO. The core objective to open source SPIFe is to enable collaboration, and share the software to the outside participation and innovation.

Do you agree with Software Engineer +Lawrence Kesteloot on his new approach: Do everything in Java?
