Boeing Kaydet History. The Boeing Kaydet is one of the most recognisable biplanes of all time. Originally designed by Lloyd Stearman of Stearman Aircraft as the Stearman Model 75, it was a relatively sophisticated and expensive aircraft. When Boeing acquired Stearman Aircraft in 1934 making it a ...

Hey!  I love the lyrics site.  I noticed that you suggested a symbolic understanding of the twelve days of christmas.  While it could be taught that way, and a very helpful neumonic for people learning the things you mentioned, the idea that it was to teach the catechism only dates from the 1970s, while the song is hundreds of years older.  Would you please correct that so that people don't get confused?  Thanks!

I remember the Bubonic Plague being first proposed as a possibility for this rhyme as a child, I still believe it is very lightly to be true. The Plague was known and feared by all and a rhyme seems to be certain to have been made up, due to the high level of fear would quite probably survive the test of time even after the exact meaning was forgotten.

Biplane History. The word "biplane" literally means two planes or wings, from the Wright brothers first flight on December 17, 1903 in their biplane the Wright Flyer I, until a few years before WWII, the biplane literally ruled the skies. WWI saw the biplane rapidly developed from a simple ...

I think Humpty Dumpty was more lightly to be a Mortar or Howitzer rather than a "Cannon", otherwise a very credible explanation of this popular nursery rhymes origins! (http://www.rhymes.org.uk/humpty_dumpty.htm)

If the "maid" was the original guillotine why are they now called guillotines? I thought the guillotine was invented by the Frenchman Dr Guillotine - is this not true?
