Let's move away from Brexit (#1 or #2? Losing count now...) and discuss this last piece by Peter Grey of +Scarlet Imprint.

The constant critique I hear about Grey's work is that he's just yet another man "mansplaining" witchcraft to women: yet, his books are among the few that actually sell, especially amongst female readers. I might know a thing or two about that, given that selling books is one of my main activities.
I found this statistic fascinating, because more often than not the same female customers come back for more from the same author, so it's not a case of simple curiosity on a perceived hype easily dismissed after reading the first book, be it "Apocalyptic Witchcraft", "The Red Goddess" or another of his offerings.

Given this background, I went on and re-read the blog below, and while I can definitely see how it cannot be a blueprint for each and every woman (or man!) that identify as a witch, all it says, really, is to get back to live a life where your connection with your own body is made more aware, where one realises that, maybe, losing weight and being more sexually active is not such a bad idea, after all.

I just turned 38, and that means I completely missed the wave of ultra-feminist witchcraft epitomised by Starhawk and the Dianic movement. Being European (and proudly so, just to echo my past days' posts), I never bought nor I can ever buy into the ultra-liberal-hippie background of a a big part of the alternative religions milieu in the States. I guess this makes me less receptive, from the very start, to certain critiques posited against Peter Grey's approach and ideas.

I am also a, what's the politically correct term for certain things these day? Oh yes, a "cis-white-male", so, sorry-not-sorry but I do have a very precise sense of aesthetics and I stick to it. Do what thou wilt and all that jazz.
So given all of this, maybe I am Grey's perfect crowd and I simply don't see where the problem is.

But, bottom line, this is simply one man's idea that living a healthy and more sexually-aware life isn't that bad, and I cannot find a way to fault him.

I guess it's interesting that no one seems to notice that the other half of Scarlet Imprint, Alkistis Dimech, share Grey's views and ideas through and through. But I suppose that acknowledging it wouldn't make for good drama, would it?

from a discussion sparked on the OTO Facebook group, with thanks to Martin Palmer for contributing to the ever-growing collection of thelemic memes - and to Chris Giudice for the proof reading, which is the hardest part of the entire process apparently!

the ceremony of Exaltation into the Holy Royal Arch has been one of the most beautiful I've ever experienced... every Freemason really should make this step.

I DID IT!

yesterday I learnt WordPress, today I learnt SEO trickery and now AMeTh's website shows correctly on social media - with also a spiffy new image on the header that has the Sun, the London Eye and the Big Ben.
