Spotted this as it was happening today...
As we discovered late last week, Lenovo has been serving up some tainted Superfish via its consumer PCs. Once Lenovo was called out for its heinous...

For the enterprise folks...
Rackspace made some noise yesterday at the Strata + Hadoop World conference currently taking place in New York’s Jacob Javits Center, which could have a major impact in the field of big data analytics. The company announced new offerings it’s calling the OnMetal Cloud Big Data Platform that essentially gives [...]

Here's some of the new stuff coming with Windows 10.
Microsoft decided to really shake things up today when, instead of announcing what many expected to be called Windows 9, they jumped right to announcing their next OS as Windows 10. Many of the leaks and rumored feature enhancements were in fact accurate, though with full details on how ;Microsoft will implement these features and new...

What do you all think?
Over the past week or so, there has been a lot of talk about NVIDIA’s just-released GeForce GTX 980 and GTX 970 graphics cards. The new cards, which feature GPUs based on the company’s latest Maxwell architecture, offer excellent overall performance with significantly lower power consumption than NVIDIA’s previous-gen products. [...]

I appreciate efficient power. From a performance perspective, if a 250W AMD card performed like a 165W one from NVIDIA, I'd opt for NVIDIA. I admit I tend to care more about the power bill than anything else though - and 85W will make a difference if you game a lot.

We just got Broadwell, and  they're already showing Skylake...
This morning at the Intel Developers Conference in San Francisco, Intel PC Client Group Vice President Kirk Skaugen offered a live demo of "Skylake," the follow-on to the company's Broadwell processor platform. ;Set for launch before the end of 2015, the platform is claimed to offer significant battery life gains for 2-in-1 hybrids and...

Cool stuff out of IDF...
There's an age-old warning about putting all of one's eggs in a single basket. It's a lesson Intel is determined not to learn the hard way, hence why you'll find Intel inside Windows machines, Apple systems, and Android devices. In terms of mobile, Android is the most successful at this point (as it relates to market share), and to make it...

Something's going down...
It appears that Sony has become the victim of a massive ransomware hack which has resulted in the company shutting down. An unnamed source spoke to Business 2 Community claiming that the company shut down after its computers in New York and around the nation were infiltrated. The source, according to the website, is an ex-employee of Sony

Have similar problems on your device(s)?
I have been exposed to a large number of mobile devices over the last few years and think there’s a bit (pun intended) of a problem with Android that hasn’t been talked about much. In addition to reviewing a number of flagship devices from Samsung, HTC, Lenovo, Acer and NVIDIA, [...]

This is pretty freakin' funny!
Apple finally responded to complaints that its giant sized iPhone 6 Plus is having trouble staying firm, saying the problem is an "extremely rare" one (that excuse never works, btw) and that only nine customers have complained to the company about it so far. That might be true, but given the widespread media attention the device's bendable...

Some actual benchmark numbers!
We’re currently at the Intel Developers Forum checking out all of the technology being showcase by Intel and its partners. Just in case you’ve missed our coverage from earlier in the day amidst all of the Apple news, we’ve got video of Intel’s CEO Brian Krzanich on stage demoing RealSense posted here, in addition to...

This is pretty cool to see in action. Watch the video...
Let's go ahead and dispense with the inevitable shout out to Minority Report, the futuristic flick that seems an obligatory mention whenever there's talk of next-generation 3D technology. What Intel's working on is not Minority Report -- it's called RealSense, and using the technology, you can scan, modify, print, and share in 3D, as well...

As a life-long boxing fan, now on a mission to lose weight and get in shape, I was excited to find a Title Boxing Club in my neighborhood. So, I gave it a shot a couple of months ago and I could not be happier that I did. The workouts are awesome and even though I still struggle to complete every move/exercise in a typical class, I’m motivated to keep trying and push my limits. And I can honestly say that one of the trainers at Title (Troy) has been a huge factor in that motivation. Even before I officially joined the club, Troy provided guidance and pushed me to stay focused on my mission. He went out of his way to be as accommodating and helpful as possible and I can’t thank him enough. Here’s the bottom line: Title Boxing is awesome. Everything from the people to the classes, and the facilities and location are great--And you can’t ask for any more than that.
