Make sure your kids learn to code.
In the future, coding will be a natural part of human language and computational thinking will be an extension of our thought processes. Imagine the solutions and inventions today’s code-fluent kids will come up with tomorrow!

I think more people will code in the future, but the idea that the masses will all be doing it is far fetched; similar to asserting that we'll all be mathematics whizzes. It will be an increasingly coveted skill though.

yep, hopefully this means we can make up for some lost time, as these kinds of dial-up technologies should have already been thought about updating since the advent of 8Mb ADSL o.O

The fact we're still using JPEG, GIF's and barely changed Javascript, CSS, etc is shocking.

Lower drug-related crime and health issues, higher tax revenues and happier people. Governments of the world, get on with the program.

For 20 years The Economist has led calls for a rethink on drug prohibition. This film looks at new approaches to drugs policy, from Portugal to Colorado. It kicks off our new “Global Compass” series, examining novel approaches to policy problems. To watch more visit www.economist.com/films

Commas: Quick Rules. The comma is a valuable, useful punctuation device because it separates the structural elements of sentences into manageable segments. The rules provided here are those found in traditional handbooks; however, in certain rhetorical contexts and for specific purposes, ...

Microsoft has just fired Mark Penn, the man behind the Scroogle campaign. What took them so long? The man is one of the main reasons Microsoft looked so pathetically incompetent (http://www.wired.com/2013/11/what-is-microsoft-thinking-with-these-goofy-anti-google-products). Despite his slowness to act, I like the direction Nadella is taking the company. More innovation, less buffoonery.
Former Nokia CEO Stephen Elop's exit is a sign that Microsoft is—at least in spirit—seceding from a crowded smartphone market.

That's fair. The Scroogled campaign was honest (I know you disagree), but obviously due to consumer reception, very poorly built marketing.

This is a beautiful commercial. I'm so happy to see the swelling support for same sex marriage here in Australia since the Ireland vote. Looks like there is no turning back now, despite the joke of a PM we have.

I think in this advert, they are highlighting a simple single issue - they are there to manage your money no matter what sexuality, language or parental status. If they start advertising to ISIS I'll get worried.
