On my recent trip to the Maldives, I learned something intriguing: there are 12 ways to describe the word blue in the local language. And blue just happens to be my favourite colour.

Great story by Debi Lander.
Last April I flew to Amsterdam to visit the tulip fields of Holland.  Unfortunately, spring had been cold and most of the gardens were behind schedule; the bulbs were not yet in bloom. <img class=size-large wp-image-4141 alt=Pink Tulips at Keukenhof Gardens src=http://luxebeatmag.

I need to work harder at keeping my travel blog up-to-date while also being Ex Editor of a magazine. I plan to monetize my blog more than it is, as it is very little at this point.

I agree that speaking engagements and personal encounters generate more opportunities and revenue. That was evident on my trip this past June to Greece.

As I've written before, once upon a time, I was a Manhattanite, a New York City dweller. When I lived there, parts of Manhattan still were very undesirable. Like the Lower East Side. One the best Mexican restaurants was located there and you literally got dropped off in a cab and didn't emerge back

This trip to Munich sounds terrific. Unfortunately, I've only overnighted there. @MO_Hotels.
What I discovered from my 24 hours in Munich, Germany is that I absolutely need more time in the city.

The Epicurean Explorer
Introduction
Maralyn Dennis Hill is known as The Epicurean Explorer. She says she was born to travel and tell the tale, from local and simple to Michelin Star. Maralyn is always on the lookout for   luxury experiences that exceed expectations with spas, accommodations, dining, and destinations.

As executive editor of Luxe Beat Magazine and a professional travel and culinary writer, being a guest on a monthly radio show with her husband, and contributing to numerous publications, print and online, she reaches several million on a continual basis, domestically and internationally.

Maralyn’s years of writing travel incentive programs and meeting planning expanded her talent for digging below the surface for the unusual. She thrives on discovering different cultures and customs.

She is always ready to explore different flavors of various cultures and share their tale. People she meets along the way are the best part.

Maralyn has also co-authored three books and hosted a Time-Warner Cable TV Show for four years.

She is past president of the International Food Wine & Travel Writers Association (12-2008 to 12-2012) and continues as a board member and co-chair of its Conference and Media Trip Committee.

Maralyn is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers, as well as the Society of Professional Journalists.

Specialties: Culinary tourism, luxury and spas, but loves all travel. If along the way there is a boutique that calls her name, Maralyn likes to check it out. Food judging is enjoyable and she still savors using her conference, incentive, and meeting planning skills.

To quote the author, “

I've written incentive programs, mission statements, and coached individuals on writing and marketing their successful projects. That is why I enjoy serving on the boards of Curran Pendleton Press and Stella Jane Marketing. I also thrive on traveling, exploring and writing with my husband.”

When run over by a car in a residential neighborhood last August, I thought I was going to die. Fortunately, I didn’t. My medical bills in ICU and the first four days used up the insurance that the driver had. I was quite fortunate to have Christy Thompson and the team from Thompson Law Firm handling my case. Christy knows when to be personable and when to be tough and so do the others in her office. Better yet, they all follow through on answering questions. They knew where to look for and find extra available funds and negotiate a better settlement on the medical expenses. In turn, instead of just walking away with my life and owing twenty percent of ongoing medical bills, I also received a generous settlement. I would recommend Christy Thompson and Thompson Law Firm without hesitation for their integrity and ability to get the job done right.

We purchased our Kia Sol last night. The staff was exceptional. Our only frustration was the time it took. But, that is typical of any car dealership. Our sales associate was excellent and came in on her day off, as that was the time that was convenient for us. The manager was willing to negoiate rather than have us walk away, and the financial department effecient, so it was a win/win for everyone.
