Why #ILoveMuseums  Campaign Matters (includes #artsfunding   debate from Parliament)

#Museums   #art   #culture   #funding
Full disclosure: I'm working on the social media for the ILoveMuseums.com campaign. ilovemuseums The concept behind the campaign is to get enough signatures on a petitions to show government that we care about museums and can't afford any more cuts to funding and budgets and still survive.

Sounds as if that docent did not have either appropriate attitude toward nor respect for the museum visitors which is extremely important for anyone who works with the public.

Had the privilege of working with FilmEditGo on a very intense and time sensitive production and can not recommend them enough. Their professionalism, wonderful personality and willingness to work around a schedule that consistently changed is something that stood out for everyone. We asked them to document our production as an overall brief but during the weekend this changed to include filming for international projects once a day, helping teams with their projects and having it prepared by 7pm. FilmEditGo were not just our film crew - they became part of our production with much needed advice and patience. They went above and beyond and not many production companies would have done this. 5 stars is not enough.

Can never go wrong with V&A. We went for a specific exhibition but then had fun finding the sculpture exhibition that is off the beaten path as such. V&A is a very large museum and while it's based on design and fashion, there is always something new or different to see. Plus - free wifi!

Another gem of London. This is technically is a university museum but don't like that stop you. It's a 'traditional' Zoology museums - in other words, creatures in jars everywhere! When you walk in, be sure to look for the Glass Jar of Moles. Yep - it only gets better after that. Each specimen is adoptable too!

The Design Museum always has exciting, fresh and new exhibitions. Currently you have to pay to enter but when the new Design Museum is built, admission will be free. Pictures are *usually* allowed everywhere. The cafe is accessible without entering the museum. And the shop has the most unique items!

Open up a Virgin Money account and gain free access to this wonderful resource in Piccadilly. Unlimited tea/coffee, soft drinks and biscuits ... along with free wifi makes this a perfect zone out space if you're out and about and don't feel like using McDonalds or Starbucks. As it's new, it's incredibly posh and fun. They have it open to the public this week then will ask for your proof of account.

An incredibly family friendly museum and gardens. The cafe is perfect or you can pack a lovely lunch to bring along! The permanent collection includes the fabulous Walrus (a must see on it's own!). The collection is .. diverse with something for everyone. The kids area is amazing too (and not just for kids!)

I hold monthly get togethers here and every time a 'Local' will thank me for introducing them to this pub. It's in a great location and usually has plenty of staff on (each floor has a bar which always looks busy but you get served quickly). There are several rest rooms also. Please note: no children are allowed at all (regardless of the time of day).
