When trying new cancer treatments, Italy’s state-run health service is demanding a money-back guarantee. The experiment is being monitored in the U.S. and across Europe, making a country better known for its fashion and fettuccine a leader in innovative strategies to rein in drug spending.

Warren Buffett, probably the world’s most successful investor, has said that anything good that happened to him could be traced back to the fact that he was born in the right country, the United States, at the right time (1930). A quarter of a century ago, when The World in 1988 light-heartedly ranked 50 countries according to where would be the best place to be born in 1988, America indeed came top. But which country will be the best for a baby ...

I like residential area villas are ground floor, that and the wide streets makes it quite open. Quiet in general. One bedroom Executive villa is spaceous. I was one month in a studio of f Mishal Studios Oasis Resorts and flat was OK, but did not like that the building fits tightly inside the surrounding fence wall.

I stayed two weeks in July in a work staying in the city of Leiden and I was generally speaking pleased. I was in the old non-renovated part of the hotel. In the aisle to the rooms there is an aroma that I cannot tell if it is intended to be a parfum, but I personally dislike it. After days I got used and did not notice it anymore. My room looked to the stainedglass covered building next to the rails, through a wall wide window. Room space was EU standard, i.e. tight. The kingsize bed is actually a twin bed composition, with mattress too soft for my personal liking. Closed to the wall a desktop has room for a kettle to heat water for the complimentary coffee or tea, a large TV LCD (Philips, what else?), and my laptop. Underneath a very small empty freezer, that I used to keep refrigerated food that I bought in the nearby shops and drinks. AC worked well, which was a confort against the almost humidity saturated ambient air of The Netherlands' summer. The bathroom has a tub and a wide vanitiy slab, everything works well. The room has one of those antique warm pressing apparatus, but neither iron nor iron board. I asked for both to reception and got them in a moment. Reception young ladies are attentive and resolute, good marks girls! Breakfast is very good, continental style with plenty of food. Juices are from concentrate and a little to the sweet side, so I assume sugar was added to them. Hotel is located next to Leiden Central Train Station and bus stops, so getting anyware from here, including Schiphol airport, is very easy with frequent schedules. Downtown is just 5 minutes walk, so location i superb.

I had a preffered guest room and it was fantastic. It was furnished with a toilet room separated from the bathroom, the later with split bath tub and shower, very functional if you travel with a partner. The living room with a balcony to the sea and the hotel swimming pool, had with a big TV flat screen and a Bose system was confortable and furnished with Nexpresso and assorted fresh fruits. The employees were always friendly and at hand. Final detail that really rocks: due to a very long delay in my flight I arrived at 3:00 AM and I kept the room unitl 18:00 PM the same day, and they did not charge the extra night as it is usual in that circumstances. Shukran to Le Méridien staff!
