Flashback Friday: Harris County’s NRG Stadium, built by Manhattan Construction, debuted in 2002 and hosted Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004. NRG Stadium was the first NFL facility with a retractable roof. Thirteen years later, Manhattan is doing “make ready” work at NRG Stadium in preparation for hosting Super Bowl XLI on February 5, 2017. NRG is one of three stadiums that Manhattan has built or renovated that have hosted Super Bowls during the last two decades. It is an honor to help Harris County with facility preparations to host a Super Bowl for the second time.
