Sigh, OK so the early eighties weren't a complete write off, I do love this song. Marc Almond actually reminds me of Felix from Orphan Black.

Arun Gupta - Founding member of the Java EE team at Sun is in town on Tuesday to give a talk on WildFly 8 (Open Source Java EE 7 App Server) to the London Java Community at SkillsMatter.

Don't think that you need to be an LJC member in order to attend.

That may be +Ade Oshineye, but, many of the cloud services those cool kids connect to are running somewhere else on an app server and many of those servers are written in Java.

Another great song from True Detective: The Angry River (feat. Father John Misty & S. I. Istwa) - by The Hat. Fitted the end of the series perfectly.

Father John Misty is J. Tilman from Fleet Foxes, couldn't find anything attributed to an artist called 'The Hat' except for a few old tracks on Spotify.

Thanks to +Michael Mahemoff for pointing this out.
The sportswear company has decided that only software has a future in Nike’s technology vision. That means cutting the FuelBand, including a slimmer version planned for the fall.

We demonstrated many of the new Google Cloud Platform Git Push to Deploy features last week on the Cloud Developer Roadshow as part of the "Zero to Fully Functioning App" demo session with +Brad Abrams.

Here's how to wire up an existing Github repo to your Cloud Project.  Once it's done, if you push to your repo's master branch, the app code will be automatically deployed (updated if it exists already).

Game of Thrones / Frozen "Let it Go" mashup. This has probably been shared to death already but it's great (contains violent scenes from GoT).

Missing Japan already and planning on going back in the autumn on a tighter budget. Shibuya is a crazy place and the train station with it's all or nothing street crossings (the pedestrian lights all turn green at the same time) is iconic. This was a quite time of day for Shibuya.

Yep I must go back over there some time too.  By the way we have some of those all-direction pedestrian crossings here in Australia as well.  For example there's one at the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth Street, Melbourne, right outside the railway station.

Heard this song at the end of the first episode of True Detective and found out who it was through tunefind.com. The main rif reminds me of "When the Levee Breaks" and overall they sound a little like BRMC. Some great music on True Detective.
