DID YOU KNOW??

In 1991, within a period of only six weeks, five classic modern rock albums were released which over time rose to huge critical and commercial success and fame. Metallica’s Black Album was released on 13th August, Pearl Jam’s debut album Ten was released on 27th August, Guns N’Roses’ Use Your Illusion was released on the 17th of September, and Nirvana’s Nevermind and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Blood Sugar Sex Magik were released on the same day on the 24th September!

Expensive as FU*K!
Not many people today care for violins, but those who do seem to be really passionate about them. Apparently there is a viola, a rare one at that whose value is estimated at 45 Million dollars. For that price one can have 45 Bugatti Veyron's or more than 120 Lamborghini Aventadors. But some people are really insistent and would rather buy a viola for the price.

Jokes apart, the viola is not your average instrument. It was built in 1719 by the famed Italian crafter Antonio Stradivari and is one of the only ten he ever built. If someone wants to own a complete Stradivari Quartet, he needs to have this viola which is one of the only two in private hands, and the only one up for sale as of now. Hence it's extraordinary premium.

At this price, it is not only the world's most expensive musical instrument, but the most expensive instrument overall. Just imagine. If the man were to somehow pop back to life, how much money he would end up making! Perhaps he'll even be invited by the Illuminati for an exclusive membership!

In 2002, a lock of hair from Elvis Presley's famed pompador was sold for a whopping 115,000 USD, the most ever for a single tress. It is believed to have been cut off his head in 1958 when he enthusiastically joined the US army.

It seems pretty bizarre, not to mention creepy, to pay such a sum for a few strands of hair that, when removed from whatever velvet-cushioned box they are likely bound within, would be indistinguishable from something fished out of a shower drain. But it's not really that surprising. We've been paying big bucks for celebrity hair for years:

John Lennon (48,000$) Justin Beiber (40,000$) Mick Jagger (6,000$) Napoleon Bonaparte (13,000$) Abraham Lincoln, (25,000$) Beethoven (7,000$) and Che Guevara (100,000$) Willie Nelson (37,000$) These all are just a few in a long list of many.

In 2013, even Katy Perry admitted to keeping locks of hair from Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus in her purse. She says 'It is totally creepy but awesome!'

Is it REALLY something 'awesome'??? #elvispresley #insanity

In 2013, Billboard named Hey Jude as the 10th biggest song of all time. As noble the song is, so is the story behind it's formulation.

At that time, John had divorced his first wife Cynthia Lennon for Yoko-Ono. His son Julian with whom Paul was the best of friends was having a hard time coping with his parents divorce. When Paul went out to visit the two of them, he was immensely saddened by Julian's state, so much so that on his way back home, he wrote down Hey Jude while in his car in its entirety. It was initially titled Hey Jules and was a direct tribute meant to comfort him, but was later changed to Jude so as to keep it universal.

He created a tune that'll outlive both of them. Can there ever be a better way to comfort someone? 😊

These just blew my mind. If only all of us could come up with such brilliant ideas. But we can always borrow some cues atleast! :D #genius #marketingtips #packaging #thebest
A very simple yet effective packaging design, this fashionable little box serves as a smart tea hanger and is pleasing to the eye.

These are the earphones I've forever been waiting for!! The sweet spot between portability and utility. Plus these are the only wireless earphones that are actually wireless!
Thankfully, somebody has finally understood the true meaning of the term wireless and as the video suggests, the idea is nothing but revolutionary!

A FEUD LIKE NONE OTHER!

In the early Nineties, Nirvana and Guns n’ Roses were HUGE. It was a good time for both bands, with Axl Rose not yet insane and Kurt Cobain not yet dead, so someone in G'n'R thought to bridge the gap by inviting Nirvana to tour with them!

Nirvana refused, then added literal insult to injury when Cobain declared Guns n’ Roses to write “crap music” in a later interview. The bad blood persisted up until the 1992 VMAs, when Axl responded to Courtney Love’s mocking request for him to be the godfather of their newborn child by demanding that Kurt “shut [his] bitch up.”

When Cobain failed to comply, Rose then threatened to “take [him] to the pavement” and even invited Duff McKagan to join the fight. Cobain laughed the incident off, saying, “I couldn’t help but laugh because I’ve never been in that kind of situation since the sixth grade.”

The matter was ultimately resolved with Cobain’s death and Rose’s self-imposed exile, but recently Slash stated during an interview with Howard Stern that “there were some issues that happened, having to do with Axl” that made him secretly grateful for Cobain and Love’s attempt to poke holes in the singer’s hyperinflated ego. As we’ve seen before, Axl can have that effect on many!! But who according to you was the winner of this feud, if any?

34, Montagu Square, London is a part of music history. Many influential people have made this apartment their humble abode and during their stay reached the zenith of their respective careers.
1. Ringo Starr of the Beatles leased it out in 1965.

2. Not more than 6 months later, Starr moved to the suburbs, leaving this apartment to the care of Paul McCartney, his fellow Beatle comrade. Paul would eventually end up composing many iconic Beatle songs here. 'Eleanor Rigby' and 'I'm looking through you' are the noteworthy of the lot.

3. Up next was Jimi Hendrix. He stayed there with his girlfriend for about an year before Ringo evicted him out for being a terrible tenant. During his stay here, he rose to stardom and also recorded in this very apartment his smash hit 'The wind cries Mary'

4. In 1968, the apartment found its new celebrity tenants in John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono. The two stayed there for about 3 months, shooting the infamous two virgins magazine cover before being arrested by the local police for possession of the drug hashish.

In 2010, the legendary apartment was declared to be a 'building of historical interest.' Quite a run for a mere apartment ain't it?

You may be right about McCartney . However legend has it that between about early 64 and mid 66 he lived in a small room in Jane Asher,s family,s house in Wimpole Street . It was here that he composed Yesterday in the small attic bedroom. He may have briefly moved into this flat but I have never heard that in about 40 years of following the fabs. He moved into Cavendish Avenue St Johns Wood in the spring of 66 after buying it in 64 and still owns this house. Paul was friends with Donovan who lived nearby in Maida Vale and he has said that he helped Paul with some of the lyrics for Eleanor Rigby when Paul visited. Paul resisted moving to suburban Weybridge & Esher like John Ringo and George who all bought houses here in 64/65 as he wanted to be closer to the social scene in London of which he was a major player in the sixties. I believe this flat was where John & Yoko were living in late 68 when they were busted for drugs.
