Well this is timely since it just so happens I am searching for a new home base. Thanks for being awesome Avinash.
The Real Value of $100 in Each State.

Pretty nice visualization that brings forth some hmm... moments.  Are you as surprised as I am that there is not more variability? Given all the differences in US states, I would have expected a lot more.

None of the "winners" (NY, CA, VA) are surprising. $110 for NE was a surprise. AR, MS, AL were not surprises at all. Sad.

Do you see any "red states" vs. "blue states" trend? What do you think about the data for your state?

I am FINALLY catching up on some blogging (!!!) One of my fave cities so far has been Bruges - a fairytale medieval city about an hour away from Brussels. Bruges is not a shithole.

Here's a quick tour through the old town of Brussels:

The stereotype of long-term travelers is that they on a journey to find themselves. Although self-discovery is typically a fun bi-product, there are plenty of travelers who don't see travel as a break from life. Have you encountered this stereotype from friends/family? How do you respond?
