Great post +Makiko Itoh​​! You know, as a tourist, and I dare say it would be different as a worker, my experience of Japan echo's your article. For a country with such densely populated city areas, the lack of competition, the politeness in queuing, the helpful, thoughtful approach to others is a major cultural difference for me. I'm from Australia, I might add, the difference to America would seem even greater!

Finally posting new recipes again...(and that's not the completed recipe photo; it's what you do with those charred eggplants. ^_^; )
It's midsummer, and daytime temperatures are hovering in the mid to high 30s °C (or 95-100 °F) around these parts. Sure it's a dry heat, since it is in Provence, but it's still pretty hard to bear, especially since we don't have air conditioning. This means that it's really hard to even ...

Today is the 4th anniversary... If you want to help out a bit, go to  <a href="http://www.yahoo.co.jp/">the Yahoo! Japan home page</a>, and type "3.11" (without the quotes) in the search box at the top of the page. Every time someone searches for 3.11 today, Yahoo!
