Happy Monday. This is a very important post so please take a moment to read it. Plastic Surgery like any other surgery is very serious and nothing that should be taken for granted just because it is elective surgery. A huge percentage of the procedures I perform are revisions from earlier surgeries performed by other surgeons. Revisions are more complex procedures and take more time, effort, and the risk is higher. I can correct and improve many things, but sometimes there is scarring or damage that cannot be repaired. Therefore, PLEASE do your research before you pick your Plastic Surgeon regardless of how big or small the procedure is. Always make sure they are board certified in Plastic Surgery – not just in a surgical specialty, or in cosmetic surgery, or in many cases not even surgery at all. By law, any doctor is allowed to perform cosmetic surgery even if they didn’t complete any training, even if they didn’t complete their residency, even if they aren’t a surgeon, and even in some states can be a dentist or PA. Make sure they have extensive experience with the procedure you are having performed, as well as credentials such as schooling and surgery training. Look at before and after photos and read patient reviews and most of all, take the time to go to the consultation and get to know the surgeon, their techniques, and the way they care for patients. You are making a serious investment in your body, something that creates permanent changes, so don’t cut corners and have any regrets. – Dr. Cat

Recently, Taylor Swift has been seen sporting a larger bust-line. There’s speculation that she got breast augmentation.
I think people and the media should leave Taylor Swift alone about her possible breast augmentation surgery. Breast surgery is very personal and no woman wants to admit they are flat-chested or talk about bra padding they may or may not use.

Breast implants definitely make a huge difference for patients and is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedure for women. Patients always tell me how much better they feel to have breasts that fit their figure and make them feel more confident and feminine. I personally got breast implants 15 years ago and it was one of the best things I ever did. However, not everyone is as open about it nor should they be forced to talk about it.

Taylor Swift has been looking happy and confident as she hits the town with her new boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston. Whether her confidence and happiness comes from her new boyfriend or her possible new procedure, she should be able to have her privacy about this very personal decision.

Meg Ryan was a presenter at the Tony Awards this week, and her “new look” upset many viewers. The 54-year-old Ryan introduced a performance by the cast of “She Loves Me.” Twitter immediately exploded with criticism over her appearance and speculation about what kind of work she’d had done.

As a woman, I understand the social pressure to remain beautiful despite the aging process. But as a plastic surgeon, I did notice the dramatic and slightly overdone work that actually made Meg Ryan look older. Her cheeks and lips appeared to be overly filled, creating a stiff and heavy appearance, and her forehead was overly frozen, likely from Botox.

Injectable fillers like Juvederm and Botox can help maintain a youthful appearance, but I believe that the best plastic surgery procedure is the one that makes people look like a better, refreshed version of themselves, not like a different person. Especially for my actor and celebrity clients, I am extremely careful to make them natural-looking.
