Hi.
I have changed a faulty switch on a Dell powerconnect 2824 with a new one. To make sure that the switch is stable I would like to performance/stability test it. What I thought of doing was create a lot of vlan and "Bridge" them. So say port 1-2 in vlan 2, and port 3-4 in vlan 3 etc. And them patch it so port 1 goes in a computer, port 2 goes to port 3 and port so forth. Last port connected to a different computer. Then run I iperf test to se if it performs. So my question is this will only be possible on a layer 3 switch/router or if it is also doable on a layer 2 switch, which I believe the 2824 is?
Is there a better way to test switch stability?

Hi everyone.
I need some input with pros and cons on the following.
I have a Raspberry Pi 2 which i use for webhosting and mailsever. What i am currently thinking about is setting up a "dropbox" solution, i think Owncloud but recommendations are welcome.
My problem is however, i only have an 8 GB MicroSD card Class 10, which is currently at 63%. Therefore i need additional space on the Pi.
What would be the best to choose? As i see it i can either go for a larger MicroSD card guessing 32 og 64 GB or i could just add a quality USB stick with same amount of storage? I do not think that performance wise one is better than the other, as i guess they are on the same controller. But could there be any reason to choose an USB in terms of not wearing out the MicroSD to fast?

Hi.
I' have a 10TB ext4 logical volume which i would like to extend to 20TB. I do however have the problem that the file system has not been created with the 64bit option which is required for ext4 to be greater than 16TB. I was planning to make a new logical volume, and join these two into a single logical volume, so i did not have to juggle the data between filesystems. I have done this for Volume groups before, but i cannot find anything in the documentation confirming that this can be done for logical volumes. Do you guys know if this can be done, or if there no way to go about it.

Best Regards.

Is there a way to start an app in the background, as i would do on linux by appending & to the comand line, in android? I have been trying with a Tasker script without luck. What i want to achive is starting a VoIP app when conncted to a specific wifi, but i do not want the app to pop up each time i move around, an is getting in and out of range of that specific wifi.

Dagens bedste nyhed, sammen med ny paranoid android version.
And time for a new FK for Flo, and it's a big one. Other Nexus will follow in the next days - much sooner than later.

* Not compatible with Deb (sorry I couldn't make it work last time even with 100% stock ramdisk)
* Introduce a new bunch of tunables for my Hotplug driver and squash all code improvements from Hammerhead's version
* Add Speaker Boost
* The lowest backlight level has been pushed to the minimum. It was too bright at night and now its as dimm as possible
* Add RGB display calibration interface. Will be available for tune on my Nexus Display app pretty soon (its free for XDA users)
* Uses a power efficient system workqueue to allow the cores to stay longer times on idle
* Several key subsystems are now using a newer and more advanced kernel thread infrastructure to allow cores to allow for better power savings
* Improved thermal throttle code
