Car owners are more loyal then expected BUT the right digital communication can easily change their mind...

We have recently conducted a survey for one of our clients to investigate the degree of car owners brand loyalty, and more specifically to verify the hypothesis, emerged in several previous researches, that consumers are habitual buyers, except when it comes to their preferred car brand.

For this purpose we interviewed 2000 US consumers that purchased a car more then 3 years ago and that have been exposed to cars brands digital media campaigns in the previous 5 days.

Trust has been confirmed as the primary reason for choosing the same make of car brand followed by brand image, price and a positive aftersales experience.

On average only 47% of respondents seems to be influenced by digital communication in the next car purchase decision BUT brand loyal consumers are shown to be highly influenced by accurate marketing strategies, in certain instances the effectiveness of these specific media campaigns have even reached 95%.
