Advanced Issues in Family Mediation

Please join us on October 14, 2015 between 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the People’s Law School, #150, 900 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC, for a free two hour workshop that is designed to enhance a family law mediator’s knowledge and skills in resolving family law disputes. In particular, this workshop will focus on challenging or complex situations in family law mediation. The topics that will be discussed are:

• dealing with the self-represented party
• dealing with multiple parties;
• the attorney-client relationship;
• when the lawyer stands in the way of settlement;
• when mediators get stuck or attacked by participants or counsel; and
• Review of the Professional Conduct Handbook on a lawyer acting as a family law mediator and professional ethical obligations.
