So very, very happy to be writing for The Atlantic. First piece lets me dig into my Shakespearian fiendishness: http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2012/01/ralph-fienness-coriolanus-the-modern-shakespeare-movie-done-right/251923/
As the new movie demonstrates, updates of the bard's tales require both excess and respect for the text.

I want to live in this person's world, where retro, gender-bending stories of art and sex (LITTLE ASHES) and audacious female rockers (THE RUNAWAYS) have the possibility of "real buzz" and "box-office bucks."

Say what you will about Stewart and Pattinson, but taking on daring indie films that don't become box office sensations has absolutely nothing to do with how BREAKING DAWN will fare financially.

That seems like a pretty ridiculous story, using all the wrong metrics to try to predict success (or non-success). I'm no Twilight-fan, but I really doubt the series' box-office is going to die before the last film makes it out.

I need to return to Coney Island, break through the no-people barrier, and get my Requiem for a Dream shot.

I wonder how many times I can watch/listen to this before I become overwhelmed with MELANCHOLIA.

The fact that Jackson is ranting against the idiotic terms of their release and continue the fight makes me quite happy.

If we could bring these women back, the world would be such a better place. I want to lock myself to my couch and just watch all of their work and read all of their biographies for a few weeks.

Best photo gallery ever: Nightmares in Niagara Falls snaps photos of the people during the scariest part of their haunted house. Considering all the clutching, I imagine they still go pitch-black.

Darling, please go hold this glass in front of your face and let me shoot at you repeatedly. At least William Burroughs had the intoxication excuse.

I had to enter the Toronto Screen Shots fold and write more about TRIGGER. Go buy it, watch it, and bask in the Wright.
