Although deductible business and medical mileage rates have increased, moving expenses no longer qualify as a tax deduction!

The only people exempt from this change are members of our Armed Forces who move pursuant to a military order.

IRS provides guidance on the Savers Credit. If you meet the following qualifications consult with your CPA when filing your taxes.

To claim the Saver’s Credit for 2017:
1. You must be age 18 or older,
2. You cannot be a full-time student,
3. You cannot be claimed as a dependent on another person’s return, and
4. Your adjusted gross income cannot be more than:
• $62,000 if your filing status is married filing jointly;
• $46,500 if your filing status is head of household; or
• $31,000 if your filing status is single, married filing separately or qualifying widow(er).
