Wishful thinking on my part because I am currently working with the Z80.  Maybe we could see an Intel 8008 in this same footprint. Coming in with ten fewer transistors than the MOS 6502.  (If we trust Wikipedia for these numbers)  Seeing the dual register files of the Z80 switching away via LEDs, however, I'd say stack the boards, lol.

Sew rad: Hack a knitting machine to be digitally operated with Arduino.
You can still use punch cards to operate knitting machines, but a few groups are now bringing the technology full circle by hacking knitting machines so that they may be operated digitally via an Arduino.

I worked on a building that was over 150 years old. It had clear boards 12 inches wide and 30 feet long. Which we had to throw down a garbage chute. So we had to chop them up into little itty bitty pieces. The things one has to do to make a buck in this world.

Their machines always struck me as a bit too light, and rickety. But materials cost money so you get what you get.
