The problem with what you have said is that you assume women don't have the ability to think or do for themselves. You seem to believe that if you don't ride in on your white horse with the solution then they won't be able to achieve anything themselves. Being a father makes you even more susceptible to this as you have been taught that you are suppose to be her champion.
Diversity programs which allow for one gender or race to be chosen over another just because of that gender or race are simply wrong. You can not justify any sort of equality by using inequality as a means of achieving that end. It just doesn't hold water.
