Friends and family,

From July 15 - August 5, I'll be in Kathmandu, Nepal as part of the Google Disaster Corps team. Along with 3 other Googlers, we'll be partnering with Room to Read (http://www.roomtoread.org/), an NGO focused on increasing access to education and literacy rates for girls. Our goal is to help them share the current state of Nepal and their journey/efforts to rebuild the educational landscape, ensuring kids are returning to the classroom as quickly as possible after the devastating earthquake.

While there, I’m attempting to fundraise 1000$ to go towards earthquake relief efforts. If you would like to contribute to this cause and help me reach this goal, make a donation here: https://give.hands.org/monicab.
Every $ counts!

Thank you SO much for your generosity and compassion!

Join us at Google I/O from your location by hosting or attending an I/O Extended event near you!

Join us for Google I/O 2015 via the global I/O Extended program #io15 #io15extended

In case you missed it, we recently officially announced that Google I/O 2015 will take place on May 28 & 29 (http://goo.gl/TQHoQ9).

We know not everyone can make it all the way to San Francisco, so to bring I/O into local communities worldwide, we have an event series called I/O Extended. The program aims to help developers enjoy the keynote and various sessions at I/O together through a live stream to encourage collaboration and build new connections. I/O Extended events often include unique developer activities, such as hackathons, code labs, and demos. These events are organized by Google Developer Groups (GDGs), Student Ambassadors, and local developers.

In 2014, there were roughly 600 Extended events in 90+ countries around the world (http://goo.gl/qUhQSm)! To get a feel for the I/O Extended experience, here’s a recap of the best moments of 2014: http://goo.gl/jM1gI3. We’re excited to see the developer community join together once again in 2015 to experience I/O from every corner of the globe.

If you want to organize an event:
-- Read through the Organizer Guide (http://goo.gl/rYSkMx) and register your event on the I/O website (http://goo.gl/qPI7nG). Note: If you’re a GDG, you should register your Extended event via the DevSite instead (http://developers.google.com/events).

If you want to attend an event:
-- Search the I/O Extended map for events near you (http://goo.gl/EuIlX5).

For more info on I/O Extended, join the I/O Extended 2015 Organizer community on Google+ (http://goo.gl/GIlmc0), check out the I/O website, and follow the social conversation on #io15extended .
