Mom knows best where here children concerned, especially when it is mom versus a doctor who only sees kids periodically, while mom sees them daily.

No, I don't know if the mom from I'll Love You Forever is named Margery. I DON'T CARE. She is now.
The Mom from the Cat in the Hat. Well, sure. Who can expect a cat wearing a hat and playing with his *grasps pearls* things to show up while you're out running errands? But I would never leave my babies alone, even if I needed my polka dot dress tailored. Sure, the fish was there.

I just did.
A recent study has shown that if parents read one more long-form piece about parenting they will go fucking ape shit.

I am not a clean person.
Every night, I clean up the house. I start in the kitchen and pick bangles off the counter and fish a wand out of the sink. I use the broom and brush up a few extra cookie crumbs and bits of dried noodle that spilled out of the bowl of pasta I let Ellis play with while I cook.

Holy. Shit.
The real issue isn’t how different boys and girls are, but how parents react to those small differences that turn them into the much larger differences society associates with boys and girls. If we can identify areas where we may have a bias, we can direct our awareness there to overcome it or compensate for it. Let’s look at some ways to compensate for implicit bias in our parenting.

There are wolves.
She needs her wands. 2. She has too many wands and wants to put them away. 3. She has on underwear. 4. She feels too “rusty.” 5. She feels too “wakey.” 6. The cup on her shelf is not “scoocheded in.” 7. “Mommy was dweaming about princesses, but I want to dweam about princesses!” ...

Yes, this is about poop.
Taking my kid to the bathroom has been the biggest exercise in humility and grossness since pushing a baby out of my vagina and pooping on the delivery table. We started potty training this time last year. Ellis was interested in the toilet, so we let her sit on it. We read some books.

The Washington Monument would look like a boob.
Pictures of nursing men would dominate Facebook photostreams. There would be no such thing as a nursing cover because men would nurse in the wide open. Other men would come up to nursing men and give them fist bumps. Conversations like: “What are you lactating at these days?” ...
