We Joined The First Church of Cannabis C Che and I have questioned organized religion for years. While I do identify as Jewish, and in fact organized the Jewish Community on the small Caribbean island where we lived for a few years, I have trouble with the dogma of orthodoxy. C Che was raised southern … Continue reading We Joined The First Church of Cannabis

Sunwarrior Plant-based Protein and Supplements are a high-quality addition to any nutritional program. A few weeks ago I was approached by Sunwarrior with an offer to try a few of their Sunwarrior Vegan Protein and Plant-based Supplements to review. I had been hearing consistently good things about their protein powders and activated barley, so I … Continue reading Sunwarrior Plant-based Protein and Supplements Review →

An Update I Am So Tired Seriously, I am exhausted on multiple levels. Adrenal exhaustion combined with lack of sleep from a hormone imbalance and Smiley (dog) stress have left me depleted. Depleted enough to not blog for a few weeks :). Adrenal Exhaustion To address the adrenal exhaustion I have upped my intake of … Continue reading Just An Update from Me

I love these products - plant and soil-based nutrition. Get the probiotics, enzymes, minerals, and protein today and your body will thank you! My digestion has never been better, I have more endurance, and my mental focus is better.
I tried all the LiviaOne products – probiotics, enzymes, minerals, and protein – here are my comments! After my successful trial of the LiviaOne Probiotics, I contacted company CEO Ted Greidanus to see if I could try the rest. “Of course,” he replied. A few days later I received a box. One bottle of the … Continue reading Probiotics, Enzymes, Minerals, and Protein – Oh My!

When you are setting Pilates prices, remember Seth Godin’s Double and a Half Rule. For some reason, Fitness professionals and Pilates teachers tend to not see themselves as professional freelance workers. Silly, really. If you work as an independent contractor, then you are by definition a freelancer. And there are some consideration you need to … Continue reading Setting Pilates Prices – The Double and a Half Rule →

The BODYPeace Movement teaches self-love, spirituality, and honesty. Be at peace with your body! If I learned anything in the past few years, it is the importance of self-love and honesty in my relationship with myself. Seriously! I lie to myself all the time. Don’t we all? I tell myself things are fine when they … Continue reading BODYPeace Movement – Love Yourself →

This small but homey outlet of the famous Pies 'n Thighs in Williamsburg has the benefit of being walking distance from my apartment. We arrived at 2pm on a Saturday, and there was a wait for tables so we sat at the counter near the food prep area. The food is rib-sticking soul food, full of salt, fat, and yummy goodness. The biscuits (made with lard, of course) manage to be flaky and yet weigh a ton all at the same time. I ate the entire thing! Hubby and I chose breakfast. His over easy eggs were perfect, as was my well-done scramble. The house made pork sausage was spicy and yummy. Note that even the sweet tea is hibiscus, so if you don't love hibiscus tea you are SOL on that. My $8 mimosa was large enough that I only needed one, and the OJ was fresh squeezed. We saw all manner of food going out that looked fabulous. We will be back for the fluffy pancakes and fried chicken! The best part? With tip brunch for two, with drinks and tip, was under $50.

We have an 11 year old mutt named Smiley, who was really showing signs of her age. After much testing, the vets here were able to diagnose and treat her Cushing's, which has brought her back to her formerly energetic self. They are expensive, but I have yet to find a vet in lower Manhattan (or anywhere, for that matter) that isn't. The handle faxing in the claims for our pet health plan, as well as faxing Smiley's prescriptions to mail order vet pharmacy so I can save a bit in out of pocket costs. No hard sell to buy from them. And Smiley loves it here. No matter how many tests or uncomfortable procedures, she loves to come in every day for some love and a treat from the staff. Thorough, caring, wonderful health care for your furry family members. Highly recommended!
