Cornucopia of razzmatazz in that there London town earlier...

#LNYDP2016  
London hosted its annual New Years Day Parade in fine fashion to herald in 2016 with marching bands, cheerleaders, Pearly Kings and Queens and much more to round off the viewing spectacle enjoyed by thousands who lined the streets of the capital.

Amusing tableau performance at the British Musem by protestors 'BP or not BP' as they demonstrate against the dealings between the outgoing director and British Petroleum, who is a key sponsor of many exhibitions at the Museum.

Certainly an alternative slant on protesting that's for sure...
Protestors from BP or not BP performed a sketch in the foyer at the British Museum to poke a political jibe at the outgoing Director Neil MacGregor and his dealings with British Petroleum, one of the key corporate sponsors at the landmark Museum.

The Mayor of Reading invited the creators of the winning entries in her 'Christmas Tree Decoration' competition to a Christmas Tea Party in her Mayoral Parlour. The Mayor, Councillor Hacker, said she was delighted to have received so many entries.

Having a break....
This is just a quick post to say I'll be taking a break from my work for the time being. Increasingly, there are other, more pressing demands on my time elsewhere - so for a period I will be taking time out from my press, commercial and PR photography schedule. Reading's Abbey ruins look set to get some serious conservation work done as Heritage Lottery Funds of £1.77m are awarded to the town...
Reading Abbey, which was founded by Henry I in 1121 was given a boost as news emerged of a £1.77m funding approval from the Heritage Lottery. The ruins were closed to the public in 2008, but look set to re-open in 2018 following conservation work.
