15. Start doing Yoga, Qigong, or Tai Chi, preferably with an instructor.

The idea here is to do energy-training (as opposed to strength-training). 

I definitely recommend you explore strength-training, cardiovascular training, and all kinds of other creative modes of exercise.

But I believe that this type of energy training is more important for the type of reboot you are going for. 

I believe that because these types of energy-training have been practiced for thousands of years to have holistic effect on not just your physical body, but your emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies as well.

You may well have already dabbled with some type of yoga, qigong, or tai chi. The effects are vastly different when you practice daily versus when you dabble. 

It is like the difference between splashing around in a baby pool and feeling “wet” versus scuba diving around the Great Barrier Reef and exploring a completely vibrant, alien world. 

Also, these practices are awesome because you can do them by yourself anywhere in the world. You can even run them from a DVD or even your iPad. How cool is that?

Nonetheless, I highly recommend you get an instructor, especially at the beginning, middle, and end -- how’s that for covering all of my bases? 

An instructor can greatly accelerate your progress, not just from making sure you are doing the movements correctly, but also through the Qi they have accumulated from decades of practice (as well as the Qi that is available in group practice).

A lot of the adjustments you need to make will be extremely subtle and a teacher will spot those and you won’t.

I can still remember the exact sensation of being in a particularly excruciating yoga pose and thinking my eyeballs would pop out . Then the instructor added her version of one more thing.... “now, stick out your pinky finger!” (thanks a lot Hillary!). Oooooouch! ... Who knew?

So remember: do energy-training and beware the pinky finger.
