We are pleased to announce that our Oculus and Scope families have been awarded a Product Innovation Award (PIA) from Architectural SSL magazine.

The Architectural SSL Product Innovation Awards recognize innovative LED and solid-state luminaires and fixtures on the market. With judging and evaluation of products and systems from a distinguished panel of 14 designers and lighting specialists skilled in product evaluation, the PIA program awards manufacturers based on attributes, qualities, functionality and/or performance beyond industry standards.

Phil Wyton, our Midwest Regional Sales Manager doing product training with agent NRG Sales in Nebraska.

Question of the day: What does it mean when you reference Luminis products as being passively cooled and NOT actively cooled?

Answer: The term “active” usually refers to a fan. This fan usually placed by the heat sink forcefully moves air to cool the unit. Passively is the obvious opposite, the luminaire does not use any fans or other working parts for thermal management. Luminis can offer high power and deliver useful foot candles without needing these extra components.
