My first guitar effects pedal. It's an overdrive clipping distortion pedal that clips the audio by using the signal to power LEDs. My first use of an Op Amp.

Unfortunately the forward voltage on the LEDs was too high. I'll have to experiment with increasing the signal or swapping out the LEDs for other diodes.

+Justin Halliday Ah, that stinks. I'm sure it's already on plenty of non-region-locked sites already.

Synthetic brains. Now that they can be manufactured, it won't be long until they'll be incredibly powerful. Let's use them wisely.
Paired memristors act like synapses to link circuitry that acts like neurons.

Unlikely: we don't use the brains we already have very wisely :P

Safer, denser, renewable batteries are going to change how we power our world and reduce our dependency on destructive power generation techniques
Doesn't solve some battery problems, but it may point a way forward.

This weekend, a man wearing a skull mask posted a video on YouTube outlining his plans to murder me. I know his real name. I documented it and sent it to law enforcement, praying something is finally done. I have received these death threats and 43 others in the last five months.  This experience

I actually watched that SVU episode before reading this and I'm heartbroken that it's so true to life. Since I don't feel like I have to worry about ruining it for you though I can offer this spoiler:

The protagonist DOES admit in the end that they have sucked all the joy out of it for her. They're not so idealistic as to depict someone who is willing to fight forever at what feels like a losing battle.

I wish these women all the luck in the world if they continue their worthy crusade (because lord knows I think we deserve a place at every table and these girls have more than earned it). But there is no shame in valuing safety and quality of life over work.

Ugh... Boys can be so stupid 😞
