Parliament House, Canberra, Australia | Earth | Satellite
The construction of the parliamentary buildings in Canberra, Australia involved the removal of the top half of Capital Hill, the mound on which the structures were built. After the project was completed, much of the displaced earth was replaced on top of the buildings where a lush, green lawn now grows.

"The Daily Overview project was inspired, and derives its name, from an idea known as the Overview Effect. This term refers to the sensation astronauts have when given the opportunity to look down and view the Earth as a whole. They have the chance to appreciate our home in its entirety, to reflect on its beauty and its fragility all at once. That's the cognitive shift that we hope to inspire."

Most keen cyclists would know the pain of cars blocking designated bike lanes, but not many would be able to fix the problem like this man.

A burly cyclist, apparently fed up with a car encroaching on the bike lane, grabbed the back of the offending car and single-handedly lifted it out of the way in a Brazilian YouTube video.

The man then hopped back onto his bike and cycled away.

nowadays if I had the choice between an iPad and a similarly priced chromebook I'd go a chromebook. ChromeOS has come a long way.

(this wasn't always the case)

Soak testing of Android Lollipop for Moto X (1st gen) has begun

Today was a bit of a downer for owners of the Motorola DROID Turbo, who learned that contrary to earlier information, there is in fact no set rollout date for the phone’s update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. That being said, we did learn that Lollipop is…

"The melancholy truth for Liberals is, however, that Abbott is going nowhere fast – good news for Labor and bad news for marginal Coalition seat-holders observing their own slow ride into electoral oblivion on Abbott’s coat-tails."

When apps ask me to rate them and you have several options such as

"maybe later"
"don't ask me again"

or some variation I feel like such a fool every time I push the don't ask me again option, because inevitably I'LL BE ASKED AGAIN!

App developers stop lying to me!

Thoughts on ereaders?

I'm interested in an ereader and would like any feedback for anyone with experience.

i.e. Kindles are great but restrictive, has anyone tried to sync pocket articles to them using third party tools? do you wish kindles had support for other ebooks vendors?

Kobo's seem cool with built in pocket capabilities and have more format support. Has anyone used Kobo's or other ereaders for things like project gutenberg and library lending?

Sony ereaders have wifi lending from local libraries! but no built in frontlight, worth the trade off?

Give me your thoughts ‪#‎lazyweb‬
