Looks like another great starting point for anyone wanting to get into Polymer. If you're in the DFW area you should definitely try to make it.

Let's get together for a brief talk on getting started with Polymer 1.0. Everyone will have a chance to download Polymer and get started by creating a basic web component.

Please RSVP: http://www.meetup.com/Google-Developer-Group-Dallas/events/224860647/
Polymer 1.0 Getting Started

The first in a series of videos on how I paint a 3D printed object.

I've been playing with painting 3D printed objects, here is one that I've been doing a lot of tests on. I have videos of every step, so I'll have a couple of YouTube videos up explaining everything... eventually. I think it was pretty successful!

This may or may not be a process I will be using on my halloween costume this year.

Printed there, yes. All the painting was done at home.

Success! I was able to log some data to the Google Fit API! I'll be presenting this at the +GDG Dallas meetup this Thursday.

Thanks to +Michael Prentice for the starting template of a presentation. Except for a few Google Fit data quirks, the biggest challenge was going through the Google Play Services setup process. Well, more accurately, KNOWING I needed to go through those steps. I will be adding those to my presentation for sure.

Great! Glad to hear that you sorted it all out! Play Services changed a number of the APIs with their modularity push since I published the slides.

But yeah, if you didn't already have Play Services in your app, there is a hurdle just to get that working and registered properly.

Unfortunately the latest version of Google Fit on Android (5/28) is pretty buggy and has some significant performance issues, especially if you are pushing things like heart rate readings from a chest strap. It's been far longer than I expected without an update, so hopefully something big is coming soon. They certainly aren't doing the normal rapid, incremental lean update process.

Just donated to 'Class'. Give $1. Change a lot. https://onetoday.google.com/p/m98Pm1Mq
Did you know? By 2020, there will be a million more computing jobs than students who can fill them.

I finished posting all 4 parts of my tutorial for how I painted a 3D printed object. All of these steps are optional, obviously, but I really liked the results. I wouldn't want to do all this for every print, but for some special ones, it can make them look really nice.

Excited about my first Weird Al concert tonight! I hope he can spot us from the stage.

If you want to stand out at a concert, you can spell out the name of the artist. For Weird Al, you can do that with just two people! This was a special order of tie-dye shirts, but if you wanted to do the same, you can always contact our sales department at sales@biglettershirt.com!

Uh oh, I better work on this.

This month Luke Wallace from Bottle Rocket will be giving a short (10-15 minute) talk on Google fit.

Also because the stable version of Android studio 1.3 was released on the July 30th, lets get to gather and try out some of the new features.

We will be providing some exercises and examples so people can try out

-How the Android Memory (HPROF) Viewer works in android studio

-How to use the new allocation tracker

and a few more features

You may not remember, but I posted a link a long time ago for a promotion where you could sign up to get free LED light bulbs. Well, this weekend they showed up! They're only 40W equivalent, but still, free LED bulbs! It looks like http://www.emergyhome.com is only light bulbs at the moment, I hope they expand into other easily replaceable items.
